Medicine Mammals is a wonderful place to bring small mammals for rehabilitation and released. Loril Moondream is an Apache, as well as a story teller. The previous post that's giving her and her non-profit a bad review is harassing a lot of Native Americans and their education programs. If you want to check her out you can contact The Massachusetts Center for Native American Awareness. I have known her since 2002. I have watched her programs and have volunteer for 14 years.
Review from Guidestar
2 years ago, my family witnessed a mother raccoon move her 6 babies into our shed. She cared for them and came out every day to search for food. One day, she didn't return (we assumed someone shot her, or maybe she got run over by car). In any event, she left 6 babies. We managed to catch them into cat carriers and brought them out to Loril Moondream's Medicine Mammals. This facility happily accepted them, even though at the present time, they were already caring for 18 other orphaned raccoons. Loril explained how the animals were cared for and the formulas needed for the babies.
That fall, me and two daughters went out to donate a day of time to help her clean cages, wash dishes and do laundry. I really wish it wasn't so far away .... I would go every day to help if I could. This is a wonderful, caring place for all orphaned wildlife, and Loril is one of the most talented, gifted and giving persons I've ever met.
