Mission: Therapeutic horseback riding for individuals with special needs
Programs: Therapeutic horseback riding for students 4-36. Average 10/hr/wk for 3 days/week with 43 students. Over 100 volunteer hours per week. Students learn riding skills. Students now walk and have better balance, focus, and self esteem.
therapeutic horse show for out students. 3 times/year with 40 students participating. We provide medals, shirts, and food for the students and their families with a social experience. Students get to compete and we saw increased self esteem and cooperation and problem solving skills.
therapeutic summer camp. Students planted and cared for an organic garden. They also cared for the horses, calf, goat, and chickens. The camp was for 8 weeks and 15 students participated and 70 more participated for 2/3 of occasions. Participants learned social skills, gardening, and animal care for improved life skills.
