Causes: Human Services, Neighborhood Centers
Mission: Our mission is to connect the volunteers and resources of partner churches to meet the needs of low income, underemployed, elderly, the disabled and others seeking assistance in clackamas county. We employ staff to manage operations, coordinate volunteers, raise funds and develop church partnerships. All services are given freely without discrimination of race, religion or ethnicity.
Programs: Love inc addresses the needs of the underserved community through a call center where volunteers answer phones of referrals sent by churches, agencies, and neighbors for various services from the church community which would otherwise go unmet. The call center also connects people seeking help to local agencies and community groups for assistance. When the need is confirmed, the caller is referred to programs staffed by local churches. Material aids include furniture, household items, layettes, baby items, food, clothing, simple home repair, hygiene and cleaning supplies, bicycles, firewood and diapers. To address the chronic needs of families love inc has also developed a program that offers training in budget management, parenting, and basic life skills to assist families out of agency dependency and into self sustaining life styles. These classes paired with job counseling, networking and resume development volunteers can aid people to develop the tools necessary to retain employment and become active, healthy members of the community. Love inc regularly partners with community and county agencies to provide these classes. During 2017, 160 volunteers contributed approximately 6,070 hours of service to assist 1,300 households resulting in goods and in kind services with an estimated value of $300,000.
