CASA - Community Against Substance Abuse - provides education to local youth and their families about the dangers of drug and alcohol abuse as well as providing fun, alcohol & drug free activities. We hope to change teen’s attitudes about using substances through providing positive alternative activities, such as Red Ribbon Week, Teen Fashion Shows, Running Clubs, Drug Free Week, social functions thru the local teen center, etc. CASA also works with other organizations: schools, counselors, the teen center, the police department, churches and speakers groups to inform and educate students and their families about what is happening in the community in regards to drug and alcohol issues. CASA holds monthly open meetings for community members, Prescription Drug Disposal events, distributes a quarterly newsletter, and provides scholarships to college bound seniors.
