20 High School Court Los Gatos CA 95030 USA

The organization's primary exempt purpose is to change the community's attitudes about alcohol and drug use and to educate school-age children about drugs, alcohol, and tobacco and to provide alternative activities for the youth to encourage healthy lifestyles and drug-free lives.

The organization donated and funded various programs that accomplished the education of school-age children in the community regarding healthy living and positive alternatives to drugs and alcohol. In addition, donations were made to organziations which promote this same goal. We project that persons benefitting from these accomplishments number approximately 6,000 which represents students in private and public schools in the los gatos vicinity in grades kindergarten through high school.

CASA - Community Against Substance Abuse - provides education to local youth and their families about the dangers of drug and alcohol abuse as well as providing fun, alcohol & drug free activities. We hope to change teen’s attitudes about using substances through providing positive alternative activities, such as Red Ribbon Week, Teen Fashion Shows, Running Clubs, Drug Free Week, social functions thru the local teen center, etc. CASA also works with other organizations: schools, counselors, the teen center, the police department, churches and speakers groups to inform and educate students and their families about what is happening in the community in regards to drug and alcohol issues. CASA holds monthly open meetings for community members, Prescription Drug Disposal events, distributes a quarterly newsletter, and provides scholarships to college bound seniors.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

AcceptingCommendation from the Mayor for the oraganizations "...outstanding contribution to the community" (2009), CASA's having an active role in the 30% decrease in drug & alcohol susp4ensions at the high school (2008), presenting 3 scholarships to college bound seniors, involving 180 students in a Teen Fashion Show (2011), and many, many more.....

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...
