I loved every moment of working with KLD. I got the chance to help kids with severe learning disabilities accomplish things they never had imagined they would do, things we all take for granted such as read, and speak in front of their peers. I got the chance to work with kids who went from hating schools to sleeping in their KLD uniforms so they wouldn't be late to school in the morning. I have seen kids come into this school feeling like they are alone in the world, and finding a family where for the first time in their lives they feel loved and worthy. I don't have the space or time to list every life that has been changed by this organization. This is a truly incredible place where education and love walk hand in hand everyday.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

seeing youth have their lives transformed because they know that they are important to someone and they are loved.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

committed, caring, visionary, and joyful.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

change the futures of so many children who are battling difficulties in our education system.

My son was in 7th grade when KLD opened it's doors for a school. Christopher is diagnosed ADHD, ODD, Aspbergers and severe social anxiety and anger disorder. What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

The true and complete love of the children they show. They fight for every child like they are their own and they refuse to accept anything but the best for every single child and family.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

Christian, loving, caring, and totally committed to completing the mission of caring for our youth.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

change the lives of the youth, enhance the lives of the children.......It really could change the world by helping the kids.

Ways to make it better...

I had found them many years before I was able to!

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

Lack of funding.

One thing I'd also say is that...

This foundation, school and staff gave me something I lost a long time ago, HOPE. There are no words to show how much that means to a mother and her son. They truly are angels sent from above.

I have witnessed the impact that KLD has had on many young people over the past 6 years. Many lives have been changed and many at-risk youth have been served.
