KittiCo Cat Rescue focuses on spay neuter assistance for stray and feral cats, with emphasis on the cats of elderly, disabled and low-income residents. Because free-roaming socialized cats often give birth to the next generation of feral cats, we also sterilize socialized cats. We use trap-neuter-return ("TNR") and low cost spay-neuter programs to humanely reduce cat overpopulation. We began in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metropolitan Area; people drive to our clinic from over 157 cities in North Central Texas. We have also helped establish and assist with TNR programs in East, West and South Texas, and in cities beyond Texas, including Carlsbad, New Mexico and Mexico City, Mexico. Our Mission:- To help reduce overpopulation of homeless cats and kittens by providing spay-neuter services for feral and stray cats, with special emphasis on cats cared for by the elderly, disabled, and persons with low incomes.- To educate the public about humane reduction of animal overpopulation through spay-neuter and trap-neuter-return programs.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

the last ten to twelve yrs/happy well fed and carried for cats in my neighborhood/no babies

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

have more dollars spent helping them and less to shelters to kill these animals/the only way to stop over population/education and help for this type of org/

How would you describe the help you got from this organization?

A lot

How likely are you to recommend this organization to a friend?

How do you feel you were treated by this organization?

Very Well

When was your last experience with this nonprofit?

How did you find this group?

meeting in Dallas regarding helping and info on the computer/

What, if any, change in your life has this group encouraged?

I love animals and will always try to help them/they love us humans even if you mis treat them/we could all take a lesson from them regarding real love)they love you unless they are taught to hate/

I trapped 4 feral cats for Kittico's Trap-Neuter-Release program and have had issued with every single one, including a pregnant cat that was supposedly spayed. Those are absolutely inexcusable results and indicate this agency is completely incompetent. --One cat's ear was not tipped (the universal sign for a spayed/neutered cat). --One cat was accidentally taken to Fort Worth and no one noticed until they handed me a cage filled with a different cat. --One cat that still comes to the house to eat has developed a large black sore around the stitch site that resembles an infection. How will that cat ever get treated for the infection? --One cat that was supposedly "spayed" DELIVERED A LITTER OF 4 KITTENS 62 days after her "surgery"!!! That means she was five or six days pregnant during her "spay" procedure, which would have removed any fetuses if the surgery had actually happened. That's totally absurd!! So, now my 70+ grandmother still has a colony on her hands after all that trouble AND EXPENSE (it's 55 bucks a cat). Please do not UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE use this agency!! There are many other non-profit feral cat programs in the area. Please use one the them instead. This is a complete and total failure of a spay/neuter program.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

Hire better staff to prevent future errors. Who knows how many other feral cats (that are very difficult to track after their "surgeries") had similar problems?

Ways to make it better...

They had actually SPAYED the cat that delivered a litter of kittens 61 days after "surgery" and prevented another feral cat colony from being created!

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

One thing I'd also say is that...

Do NOT Use This Agency!

How frequently have you been involved with the organization?

One time

KittiCo is a wonderful organization based in Dallas. It specializes in the trap, neuter, and release of feral cats and stray cats. It also provides low cost services to those that can't afford to take their critter over to the regular vet. If you live in the DFW area and have a few strays in your area... give KittiCo a call and make arrangements for them to come out and get those little critters their shots and to get them spay/neutered at no cost to you!! I have used them for more than 5 years and having nothing but great things to say about the organization

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

the elimination of out of control breeding of the wild and stray cats in our neighborhoods.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

promote more of the low cost vet services for those in need

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

their sincere dedication and the devotion given by their vets in the treatment of the cats.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

mostly women that have a love for cats.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

operate for the next 20 years!!

Ways to make it better...

Kittico couldn't have done a better job!

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

obtaining donations to continue this wonderful undertaking.

One thing I'd also say is that...

Kittico is an organization that the City Of Dallas can't afford to not have.
