Katha has taken upon itself a mission to reach out and deal with each and every aspect which touches each one of us in varied ways. The breathless excitement in every member reaches out to even the most casual of visitors. The personal touch and the genuine concern makes Katha special.

I am an engineering student and it has been three months since I joined Katha. Katha is an excellent place to learn. It has a great ambiance and a feel-good factor that encourages the students to study well. The well equipped computer laboratories and the books by the organization are apt. The teachers are very committed and I believe learning by examples is the best method to teach young minds. Apart from that, the co-curricular activities and programmes on special occasions keep the students involved and interested. I hope it continues to brighten the future of many more kids over the years.

I'm a PhD student from Germany and volunteered for Katha for three months. The combination of publishing books and running schools from one office leads to an educational program very oriented towards creativity and learning with fun. Since I got to see a lot of ex-cathedra teaching in Delhi, the partly project-based education and meeting artists and kids working with each other in the environment that Katha provides was a pleasure. I wished all that effort could be more independent from presenting the school to potential sponsors and focus even more on the kids, since the teachers I met have a great spirit and so much to give. It broadened my horizon and I hope Katha will have the opportunity to continue reaching out for children and their dreams.

I am an Urban Planner by profession currently working in the German Technical Co-operation assisting 6 JNNURM cities. I sincerely believe that 100% education is the only tool to eradicate poverty and to address all the problems in India (gap between rich and poor, social issues, women/child abuse are a few to mention). Education, again in my point of you in not mere marks a student scores in the annual examination but the whole wisdom and the logic behind the education. I think every student should know why he/she is studying today and what is the greater good he/she will be doing to the society on a longer run. Katha offered an ideal environment for me to work in that front! I can interact with the students, understand their problems and thereby suggest accordingly. The people working in Katha are so friendly and the best thing is the flexibility especially for working men/women. For those reading the review here, i suggest to go to the "Katha Khazana" situated in Govindpuri, Kalkaji Ext. and i am sure you will appreciate the work they are doing right now. May god bless those kids with good health, wisdom and happiness for ever! Ramana

After my Masters in social work from Delhi University , there could not have been any better opportunity than to work in Katha – a non profit organisation. Working in Kath was a unique experience which provided me a holistic view of urban community development. Katha’s education model for children and youth of the communities are making them earn sustainable livelihood and the best part is how these children and youth with their community leaders and elders are making a significant differences in their local area . What was special about the organisation was its sheer honesty, commitment and the will to continuously work for children and the communities across Delhi with innovative ideas. In Katha every Development professional gets ample opportunities to learn about various aspects of development and give wings to one’s ideas and creativity and make visible differences in the lives of people.

I have been a volunteer with Katha since the past one month. I have although had just one class with the students of class 12th of Katha, but in this one class i have observed that the students are very interactive and enthusiastic and are very intelligent. I feel that their thoughts need to come out on a larger platform which is exactly what Katha is trying to do. When i entered the area where Katha was located, i felt even though it was at a very secluded place yet it held a very strong position in the vicinity. With the children, teaching and interacting was fun. I am currenlty invovled with helping out the students in forming a play which they can present in front of the community members. I believe that Katha is actually doing a great job by providing the underpriviledged children a ground to bring out their thoughts. If given a chance i would love to work with Katha again.

I have worked with Katha for two months now. I am working on a project which is developing a program for english learning in three months aiming at the community people. I have the feeling that this is a very meaningful project because speaking english is a key competence. I am also participating in teaching english in different classes which is an useful experience. I find it very interesting to see how this NGO works especially in dealing with students from a socially deprived background.

I am working for Katha since one month ago and there are 11 left. In this month I have seen behind the curtain and I just see good things! Since some days I am teaching English and P.E. (sports) and it is a pleasure to work with the kids and try to make them smile and help them to improve their English. In my view Katha is a great organisation and I want to invite you to get your own oppinion.

I spent more than 3 weeks in Katha and did learn a lot. My project was "SHGs and Income Generation Program for women", which helped me know more about slums, women rights, SHGs and jute bags market in India. The experience was invaluable and benefited me for my life! Thanks so much !

I got to know about Katha from my friends and from the web page. As a seasoned advertising creative person I was looking for a way to make my craft do more than sell consumer products. As luck would have it I am now associated with Katha as a advertising design specialist.
