Our goal is to provide nationwide audiences access tothe highest caliber of choral performance through localperformances, touring performances and professional recordings forworldwide distribution. Our annual audiences are estimated at6,000 individuals in performance and an unestimated number throughbroadcasts and recordings of our work.

In addition to directmarketing to specific target audiences, a key element inattracting new and diverse audiences is in our programming. Thechorale programs concerts each season to reach specific segmentsof the general kansas city audience. Examples in past years wouldinclude boys to men designed to integrate young men and boys intothe established choral community and encourage their artisticgrowth; a concert in partnership with people to people featuringmusic from brazil, china, finland, africa, samoa and japan;milagros de navidad, a holiday concert of latino works; music ofjewish traditions; music of ireland; rhythm of life, a concert ofnative american and western african music.
to provide students and choral instructors the opportunity tocompose, rehearse and perform with world class artists. Inconjunction with missouri university faculty, we challengestudents of composition to submit a piece to be judged by a panelof experts from the university, the chorale and the arts community. The winning composer will receive a cash award, and his/her piecewill be presented by the chorale as part of its concert series. Aholiday concert each year features a performance of the choralewith over 200 honor students from high schools across the metro. Working with their teachers, chorale singers prepare the studentsfor rehearsal and performance with the chorale and provide many ofthem with individual solo performances. We feel that being exposedto the rigors of making art with a professional chorus instillsrespect, self-confidence, discipline and commitment. Conductorcharles bruffy provides a program of workshops and performancecoaching at schools throughout the nation. We offer a "free atcurtain" program, which provides students free admission to anychorale concert ten minutes prior to the start of the concert.
