The Maroons was started in 2000 to provide a club experience in soccer for the youths in Southeast Queens. The club focused on teaching the game of soccer and improving social interactions among the members. Many of of members have moved on to college with soccer scholarships. Some have even passed through the ODP soccer program a couple have even made the Regional ODP team. Working with the youths has been a challenging and rewarding experience.
I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...
Helped our u-11 Coached by Neil Howard win the NY State Cup in 2001. Worked closely with my good friend President Michael Edwards to provide a quality club for the youths of our community.
What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...
watching the youths develop on and off the soccer field as their horizons expanded as we travelled to tournaments.
The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...
Dedicated to helping the youths grow and improve in the sport, at home and in the classroom.
If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...
Provide a superclub of soccer for the community that would present educational and sporting opportunities for the youths.
