Mission: Jackson hole therapeutic riding association promotes healing with horses through equine assisted therapeutic riding and educational activities for people of all ages with disabilities, regardless of economic status. We specialize in helping our riders meet their individual goals through learning to ride. A team is created for each rider consisting of an instructor, therapists and volunteers who lead the horse and walk beside the rider for safety. We are a premier center accredited by the north american riding for the handicapped association (narha).
Programs: Program to provide equestrian opportunities to disabled youth and adults with disabilities - approximately 137 disabled individuals with disabilities served. 134 volunteers provided 3,344 volunteer hours to 137 disabled riders including united states military veterans. Equine-assisted therapies and activities were offered as follows:twenty weeks of therapeutic riding and hippotherapy for individuals of all ages with disabilities, including pre-school children, school-aged children, and adolescents, adults and veterans. Five weeks of equine learning in conjunction with therapeutic riding for youth with emotional and behavioral disabilities. Two trail rides for united states military veterans, totaling 20 servicemen and women. Hosted three horse shows and one riding demonstration.
