1) Humanitarian and commercial stove programs
2) Clean water initiatives

KENYA: Fuel efficient stove program in refugee camps

HAITI - commercial stove program to combat deforestation in Haiti

Mission:
OUR VISION IS SIMPLE. WE ARE PASSIONATE ABOUT CREATING A WORLD IN WHICH NO ONE IS FORCED TO DRINK CONTAMINATED WATER OR EXPOSE THEMSELVES, THEIR FAMILIES AND THEIR ENVIRONMENT TO THE HARMS ASSOCIATED WITH COOKING ON AN OPEN FIRE.
Results:
- 30,000 stoves made and distributed in Uganda
- 206 boreholes drilled serving 150,000 people
- 14,400 stoves distributed in Haiti
- 17,000 stoves distributed in Kenya

I had an opportunity to work with ILF for a short term in Haiti, Uganda and Kenya. I am so impressed to find out the commitment provided to refugees and vulnerable people on clean cook stove, water and sanitation, and hygiene program in those countries. I have previously worked with ILF in Uganda and Kenya in a management capacity. Although a small organisation at the time, ILF provided a great scope for community led development through livelihood projects including the fuel efficient stove project.
