ICM's mission is to improve the quality of life for the ultrapoor through our life-changing, community-based and holistic education.
In the last few years, ICM has reached nearly a half million ultrapoor people. Our programs create measurable improvement in families and whole regions. After our four-month Transform program, ICM participants experience: - 34% increase in household income - 13% decrease in serious illnesses - 53% reduction in reported physical abuse in homes ICM inspires hope and provides help to transform lives.

over 22660 families with our holistic, empowering and life-changing programs in 734 communities across the Philippines.
Geographic areas served:
adult lifeskills training, kindergartens for marginalised children, home-based feeding for malnourished children and special medical programs in our communities. These programs empower the ultrapoor to improve their quality of life.

I recently spent 10 days in the Philippines touring the ICM oeprations at three of their bases. I have never seen this level of efficiency derived from the business leadership of David Sutherland, combined with local staff that all grew up in the ultra-poor conditions of the families they serve and a laser focus on the poorest of the poor. They provide values, livelihood and health education along with practical community development centered around a network of 1800 local leaders. I have toured hundreds of charities, and was deeply impressed by the scale and impact they are having with people that earn less than 40 cents a day.

Talking with many participants and local leaders to see how ICM was impacting their lives. The impressive results are everywhere you go--that is wherever ICM is present.
If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...
ICM needs to grow to an even bigger level in the Philippines and beyond. They have requests from other Islands, and while I was there met visitors from Indonesia, Cambodia and the US trying to learn from the great work on the ground. They are ready to grow beyond the 50,000 they serve each year-- the world needs ICM!
