This organization provides an experience that would probably be otherwise unobtainable for most of it's clients. Fishing and boating opportunities for the disadvantaged are few and far between in most states but Hopes Float has opened the door for these folks to be able to enjoy a day out on a boat in the beautiful Colorado outdoors. Volunteering with this organization has changed my life! Boating and fishing has been part of my life since I was a kid and to be honest, I've taken it for granted. Being able to help provide that experience for someone else has enriched my life more than I can possibly describe. Hopes Float is an organization like no other and being a part of it has truly been one of the best things that has ever happened to me.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

watching the pure joy of a kid with special needs catch his or her first fish or seeing the eyes light up in a 90 year old senior who hasn't caught a fish in 60 years!

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

Get a second boat and expand the coverage.

volunteering for hopes float has been very rewarding. the smiles are the best. to see those anglers get excited, the way they do when they board the boat is awsome. the trip that we took to chatfield last spring is one that i think of . I will never forget the excitement that was there that day. It was one of the best fishing tripps that i've been apart of.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

joy, having the oppertunity to take other people fishing is awsome

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

I would make no changes at this time.

I love working with the elderly and disabled, they open my eyes to just how precious life really is. When you can not only spend time with them but be on a boat on Colorado waters...what more can you ask for. This is a great opportunity to do service in a way that my husband loves too. I don't have a favorite trip but the experiences are like none other, from rescued mtn goats, to kissing fish... especially since the group is headed up by a wonderful couple with more experience then I could ever imagine in fishing, boating and having fun safely, to the needs of the people on board while catching the "magics of the moments". Thank you Hopes float, other volunteers and clients(young and old) for the best memories every summer!!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

all aspects of laughter, training, promoting/advertising and true friendship :-)

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

have more volunteers, sponsors and clients.. as I know there are more people out there who would never even think of this kind of company existing.

Hopes Float is a non-profit orginization that I volunteer with as a captain and as a helper on their specially outfitted boat. The boat is outfitted to access and carry wheel chair persons. I have been on trips as far away Farmington New Mexico. We take people out for a day of fishing or just to ride around the lake. My most recent trip was with soldiers and their family's for a fishing day at Lake Pueblo, Colorado.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

Seeing joy on the face a child or handicapped child that has never caught fish or been on a boat. I usually try to have the child sit on my lap and steer the boat. I loved seeing the people just enjoy the outdoors experience.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

Add another boat so we could plan more trips for persons who have the desire to take a trip like this and expand our service area to another part of the state as well as other states.
