Mission: The mission of HPAL is to provide young people with positive alternatives to gangs and drugs. Through mentoring experiences with police officers in recreational, educational, athletic, and fine arts activities, "at-risk" youths are given the opportunity to form healthy, positive attitudes toward the police, the society, and the laws they represent.
Target demographics: at-risk youth ages 6-17
Direct beneficiaries per year: over 400 low-income kids.
Geographic areas served: Hollywood, CA
Programs: Martial Arts, Soccer, Youth Leadership Committee (monthly community service activities), Hollywood Fit Club (dance class, marathon training and more), Junior Police Academy (week-long summer session), and a Scholarship Program.

Hollywood PAL is a nonprofit program that truly helps serve kids in the community. PAL has become a program that truly accomplishes its mission statement. Not only does it provide a sense of unity and community, but it helps the kids to stay off the streets, maintain a healthy routine, and aspire more for themselves. This program makes the difference that is needed in every child's life.
