I was a trip leader for Huntington University and we teamed up with His Hands International for a spring break trip in 2012. It was simply one of the best experiences of my life and I'm sure my teammates' lives as well. One of the huge benefits of partnering with His Hands International is the freedom to make your mission trip your own. Dave Varner works with you personally to see that you experience all of Guatemala that you desire. We were able to go out "on our own" and visit several surrounding villages that we otherwise would not have been able to visit.Another benefit is the relationships Dave Varner has established with members of the community. We were blessed to experience a welcome party thrown for us by a village of beautiful people who were just happy that we were coming. That was an amazing surprise and cultural experience that we wouldn't have experienced with His Hands International. I would recommend His Hands International with all of my heart and be confident in knowing that you will be serving God and impacting Guatemala with your time.I truly hope to serve with His Hands International again in the future.
An amazing Organization!!! Everyone was so kind and genuine, and we felt like family in no time! So happy that God led us here, and it gives joy to see all the good work that they are doing. Very excited to see what we can accomplish for The Lord together!
I love what “His Hands” is doing in Guatemala. It is evident they love their community and are living sacrificialy to bring hope to people.
I also love how they are seeking to help the people be self supportive through different projects such as raising pigs, or making bleach. I was personal blessed to see what God is doing through this organization.
I've been working with His Hands International in Guatemala for dive years as a volunteer. I'm from Guatemala and i helped them documenting all the work they do here. The founder, David Varner is a great man with great heart, passionate about helping the needed. With total confidence and conviction i can say that His Hands International loves helping the needed and not only helps, also care about improving their lives creating programs where the people can learn a new job.
I had the opportunity to lead a team of high school and college students to serve in Guatemala this summer. This was an unexpected change as we've been sending teams to serve in Nicaragua the last 14 years. But due to the current violence, we prayerfully had to redirect this summer. We were a bit apprehensive serving in a new location and with a ministry that we had limited connections to, but we were overwhelming pleased in what we experienced this summer. David and his team were a joy to work with and it was amazing to play a small role in their overall vision and mission. They are doing a great work in Guatemala and have a passion to transform the Los Limones community. If you have a desire to serve in Guatemala, I would definitely encourage you to contact David and see if His Hands International would be the fit for you or your team. I feel certain they will be!

Trabajamos con el ministerio durante 2 semanas y es impresionante las cosas que han podido hacer gracias a la dedicación y el amor por esas personas, pero más aún gracias a dios por haber puesto tan buenas personas.
Our church sent a small team to partner with His Hands International in Guatemala. The experience was amazing. David has such a heart for the people of Guatemala and to serve God through serving them. Everyone we worked with was so welcoming and friendly and fully devoted to the service of God that is was humbling and inspiring.
Earlier this spring I accompanied David Varner and another local pastor on a trip to Gualán, Guatemala, to evaluate the ministry opportunities that might be available to our Virginia community of Christ-followers. It was obvious that David was very well connected and well respected by the local pastors and community leaders in Gualán, having ministered in the region for more than 10 years. I was excited to see the significant work that was already underway with Radio Redención, the social services center, medical clinic, and recent church plant in the nearby community of Limónes. I was also pleased to understand the vision for expanding those existing ministries, including a pregnancy center with ultrasound capability. Although His Hands International has no full-time presence in the community, David has continued to pursue partnership opportunities with local Guatemalan churches and evangelistic ministries like Radio Redención effecting great impact and meeting many physical and spiritual needs in the local communities. His Hand International is a wonderful vehicle for hands-on, "uttermost parts of the earth" ministry. David took care of all our logistic arrangements including international flights, in-country transportation, lodging, speaking engagements, pastors' conference, and even provided translators. I'm confident that David and the His Hands International team can provide your church or small group with a great opportunity to BE Christ's hands serving many needs in Guatemala.
What a great blessing this organization has been in helping poor and impoverished children in Guatemala. We have organized fund drives and have helped in many ways.
1) An old unused storage shed was remodeled into a beautiful classroom.
2) School supplies were given to children at the begining of each new year as well as needed material throughout the year.
3) Vitamins were provided to the school children.
4) Pre-natal vitamins were provided to expecting mothers.
5) Medical and first aid supplies have been provided to many villages.
6) Building materials were provided to help with construction on a new school.
7) Clothing, both new and used have been provided to children and adults.
8) New tennis shoes and gifts have been given out through the Christmas Shoes for Guatemala program to children who had no shoes.
9) Microphones and other electronic equipment had been donated to help a local radio and tv station.
10) An electric scooter was given to a young boy who could not walk.
And many other ways we have been able to be a blessing to many children and adults in Guatemala, being the hands and feet of Jesus. Meeting these needs in love.
There is so much more we could do if we had the resources. But we are faithful with the little we have and use it wisely to make the biggest impact.
