Mission: The Heat and Warmth Fund (THAW) is a 501(C)(3) non-profit corporation. Its purpose is to assist low-income households who need emergency help to heat or light their homes. THAW contributes to the economic stability of the region, preventing the threat of homelessness by maintaining essential utility services and providing a lifeline for families in crisis, who are unable to obtain assistance elsewhere. THAW has a proven record of effectiveness since 1985. It was formed as a coalition of businesses, private citizens, utilities, government and social service agencies and its Board and Advisory Board continue to reflect that diversity.
I worked The Heat and Warmth Fund's (THAW) Annual Radio-thon in 2009 and 2010. THAW provides low income individuals and families throughout the state of Michigan with utility assitance during the winter months. They assist customers year-round with their utility bills and help them gain awareness on how to better their conditions and circumstances. I must say that the extraordinary work this organization provides year-round is second to none. They are a leader in energy assitance and will continue to serve those in need in our community.
