Heartland Therapeutic Riding, Inc. Overview
Equine assisted therapy is helpful in improving balance and strengthening muscles. The action of the horse's back simulates the action of walking in the rider's pelvis. Each individual is evaluated prior to being accepted into Heartland's program. Volunteers assist in all sessions as side-walkers, assuring the safety of the rider. Heartland serves people with the following disabilities: orthopedic, neuromuscular, blindness, emotional disturbances, Down Syndrome, autism, and mental retardation.
Heartland Therapeutic Riding, Inc. began in 1978. We are a NARHA Premier Center. All instructors are NARHA Certified, all health professionals are licensed and NARHA AHA Registered.
