Heart of Boardwalk
Mission:
Heart of Boardwalk operates CHARG Resource Center under a partnership model, which allows our mentally ill consumers to be equal partners in the development and implementation of all services through their own elected nonprofit board. Founded in 1989, CHARG strives to listen to and to strengthen its consumers' own strategies for survival and success. CHARG advocates for people with mental illness, to decrease the stigma of mental illness, and assists consumers to be a productive part of the larger community. It also seeks to educate the larger community, locally and nationally, about the strengths and capabilities of mentally ill persons.
