Mission: The organization's principal purpose is to operate child care facilities and provide services primarily designed to eliminate the difference between the culturally deprived and the culturally advantaged children. The organization provides comprehensive services to children with an emphasis on health, education, and social services for the entire family. All programs are geared to achieving total family involvement and the provision of services necessary for improvement of the general conditions of low-income families.
Programs: In 2012 head start provided health, education, and social services to clients enrolled in the program. The organization served 664 three year olds and 901 four year olds and early head start served 39 early head start children and 161 early head start expansion children. Additionally, 103 children with disabilities were served including those with speech and language impairments who received specialized services. The services provided to clients are designed to promote school readiness as well as social development in the children served by the program as well as to assist the family unit in addressing its immediate needs by providing training in various areas such as parenting, personal and professional development, and job readiness. The organization also provides referrals to various community resources to assist families with addressing other identified issues that our organization does not provide specialized services in. The provision of the above services are provided to our clients to assist them in meeting their immediate needs as well as to aid in the development of strategies to address long range goals and needs of the family unit.
