Programs: Education is our foundation and different programs/activities are designed to empower the individual.Youth First Tutoring provides academic enrichment and activities to remedy risk factors associated with our low-income population. During the school academic year, students come during after-school hours and when on vacation. They can also attend our Summer Camp. This year 50 students from low-performing schools in the community participated in this programYouth First Entrepreneurial is a new program that we are offering to our youth. Career Specialists, professionals teach our young people basic business knowledge and the resulting business training in different areas ranging from Culinary Arts to Computer TechnologySocial Services are provided to assist families facing difficulties in coping with their economic, social and cultural challenges.The Department of Human Services of Dade County (DHS) assists HOW in educating and counseling our families in issues related to Domestic Violence.Culture and Arts are also an important component of our mission as it defines the Haitian American identity and integration into society.
