HACOF was founded in 1996 by Edy Sanon, some concerned professors of the Florida Atlantic University, and other members of the South Florida Haitian community to address the immediate needs of underprivileged members of the Haitian-American community. In a coordinated community response, HACOF's mission is twofold: Provide assistance to client population immediate needs through our center and provide programs that prevent and intervene to socially change the community's youth and families. The center is a liaison between the community and established institutions. Our sole mission in a mission statement is to provide adequate human/social services and economic development to empower social change in the American community of Haitian descent.
