Mission:
While homelessness and poverty are the result of complex economic and social forces, one major cause is the lack of accessible jobs that pay a living wage. Growing Home, which began operating in 1998, has developed a unique approach to job training and the creation of employment opportunities that will lead to stable employment and help people ultimately find permanent housing.With the rising demand for organic products, Growing Home decided to establish an organic agriculture business, as a means for training homeless people and providing them with jobs.

I am a lifetime resident of Chicago. The work that Growing Home is doing is not only providing job training, but utilizing land that has been unused, and most importantly providing healthy, locally gown products to the community.
