FixNation’s mission is to reduce the population of homeless cats by sterilizing as many as possible. At the same time, by consistently showing the effectiveness of Trap-Neuter-Return, we seek changes in public policy so that TNR becomes the officially sanctioned and government-funded approach to homeless cat management.

FixNation has fixed nearly 75,000 cats since its inception in 2007! In this same time, the euthanasia rates for cats in the LA City and County shelters has dropped by 40%. FixNation's work is making a direct impact on the lives of cats! FixNation staff have trained thousands of community members in humane and best practices for Trap-Neuter-Release (TNR) programs. To support TNR, FixNation also loans traps free of charge to the public.

Target demographics:

Stray and feral, homeless cats; Colony Caregivers

Direct beneficiaries per year:

20,000+ homeless cats and their caregivers.

Geographic areas served:

Los Angeles and Surrounding Areas

To achieve this mission, FixNation operates the nation's first full-time clinic dedicated to high-volume spay-neuter of homeless cats. FixNation devotes its resources (83% of every dollar raised) directly toward decreasing the number of unowned homeless cats though free and low-cost sterilization services at our clinic, and TNR training and support.

Its a scam. If you live in the southern, wealthy, half of Los Angeles county, they'll give you deals and discounts until it's $10-20 an animal. Drive down from the poor, northern half of the county, where median incomes are under $35,000 - nope, you pay full price. Because no one in the poor area "owns" their cats. Hmm. Says who? Oh wait, the prejudice non profit fix nation. I guess it's a good group if you don't need them. But if you're one of the lower income masses they claim as clientele to get government funding? Go away

FixNation has helped me fix many kitties who have appeared in my back yard over the years. The staff is kind and helpful. When I was moving from my house to an apartment, they allowed me to post a flyer asking for help for my three sweet ferals who I was taking care of in my back yard (in addition to the five indoor kitties I had adopted). Through FixNation, I met a wonderful colony manager who saved the ferals by helping relocate them to a safe place with another colony manager. I have renewed faith that there are people out there like me who truly love animals and want to help be part of the solution. We all imagine a world where there are no homeless or abandoned animals, and FixNation is helping make that happen. I can only hope that the concept catches on and spreads throughout the U.S. and beyond. Thanks for all that you do! I am grateful to you!

Fixnation is a great program! They helps me when I had 2 feral kittens that made my size yard their home. The kittens were fixed and given amazing care and are now back to my side yard and I don't have to worry about them reproducing. It is an amazingly efficient organization that is doing great work!

My purpose for leaving this review is to let people know about this wonderful cat resource in our city! I found this organization at at time when I really needed help. Two amazing kittens were abandoned and left in my care. At the time I didn't have the resources to care for more animals because my dogs & cats had serious health issues. Not only was it nice to have an organization get back to me, but the information that I received was detailed and delivered so promptly by Ms. Ivy Ramirez. Although the kittens were a project that came at a difficult time, I learned so much from these furry little ones and I now have passed on Fixnation information to everyone I know telling them to make sure to keep this organization in mind as a wonderful resource for the cats in our community!

Fixnation is a WONDERFUL organization but I have personally made a decision to no longer support their efforts because of Ms. Ivy Ramirez. She is patronizing and sarcastic and I'm not going to tolerate her behavior any more.
Fixnation should re-evaluate Ms. Ramirez's role in their organization, perhaps she would better serve them if she had less contact with the public.

This org has been a godsend to the greater LA area in trying to keep the feral cat population at bay and in helping to decrease it. W/o this org, we would have been inundated w/ unwanted cats in our neighborhood, many of whom would've been subjected to abuse by less caring if not hostile neighbors.
Over the past 5 years, we have taken in about 40 cats through their TNR program. We have also taken in our pet cats to their low-cost spay/neuter program. I only wish that there was another FixNation more centrally located in LA city because our area of LA really needs the service.
FixNation has always been professional, organized, efficient and caring in providing their services. The dedicated and helpful staff is a joy to work w/, esp. to see how much they care about poor unwanted cats and your pet cats.
I give to this org whenever i can - monetary donations and in-kind donations. I wish the nation could clone orgs like FixNation and have one or two in every major city. What a better world we'd have then.

I could not be more impressed by this clinic -- super organized, expertly and efficiently run, clean, friendly and compassionate staff and volunteers. It is very likely the the most well-run charity I have ever encountered, and that's coming from someone with a background in the nonprofit sector. I recently took in 3 community cats who live in my back garden and things could not have gone more smoothly. What a wonderful service they are providing the community and our furry feline friends. i plan to be a supporter henceforth in whatever way i can.
