I recently attended a Common Sense Parenting Course through Boys Town, and it was one of the best things I've done for myself and my family. The course provided me with very practical strategies to help me correct my children's misbehaviors and encourage positive behaviors. I've always considered myself to be a pretty good mother, but sometimes, during really tough situations, I didn't know what to do and would get really frustrated and angry. This course has taught me to better control my anger and model and teach self-control to my children. So I would highly recommend this course to all parents of teenagers. Oh, did I mention that the course is FREE?
I was a volunteer and it w as a great experience. I was connected with families in my community through Boys Town and was able to support them and they in turn became volunteers for another family! I felt that this commitment was worth my time and effort. I was able to see real change happen and I was able to be a part of that!
