Causes: Family Services
Mission: We provide services to individuals and families in mid-michigan to promote emotional well-being through counseling, education and support.
Programs: Individual & family services - masters level therapists provide mental health counseling and therapy for invidivuals, couples and families. Pre & post natal services are also provided to help clients deal with feelings, fears and concerns about pregnancy, birth, parenting or pregnancy loss. Youth services are also provided to young people, age 13 - 17 and their families that focus on communication and problem solving, keeping families together, and keeping young people off the streets and out of the juvenile court system. Substance abuse counseling services are provided for individuals and families affected by chemical dependency. These services served 1218 new clients in 2014. 10,202 was donated in internship services.
community outreach services - includes prevention services, which include activities such as education, awareness and identification and assessment to address underage tobacco, alcohol and drug use, first time involvement with the legal system, and participation in high risk behaviors before, during, or after pregnancy. Also includes camp iknowme, a collaborative effort to provide a six-week summer camp for high-risk adolescents, ages 13-15. Activities include psychoeducation groups for substance use prevention and value clarification, creative expression, structured recreation, volunteer experiences and community field trips. These services served 21 new clients in 2014. 1,704 was donated in internship services.
employee assistance program - an employer sponsored service that offers professional and confidential assistance to help employees with problems that may arise individually or in the family. The program has been shown to reduce workplace problems and increase productivity. These services served 80 new clients in 2014.
