Currently there are six projects of Expanding Opportunities: Distance Learning Center hopes to increase literacy and vocational skill while offering the power of the Internet to bring post secondary education to rural areas. Aina Moja uses the internet to increase markets for African artists. The Street Children Project assists a group of street children in Kericho, Kenya to have one meal per day. Books for Kenya collects used texts and sends them to schools. Friends Across the Ocean promotes student exchange and STEMS is a micro loan program.

Expanding Opportunities is a wonderful small non-profit organization that helps support it's six projects in Kenya. I focus on the Artisan Support Project, Aina Moja. Items are purchased from Kenya at Fair trade... mainly from artists who live back in the bush... Artist who cannot go into town to sell their wares because lack of funds or disabilities and such... We get to know the artist and their story.
Their wares are brought back to the USA and sold online and at a very small shop located downtown Belfast, Maine. Once the artwork is sold the funds go back into the project to help support more artists as well as Expanding Opportunities Street Kids Project. Funds help send our Boys and Girls to School. It goes towards the school fees, uniforms, school supplies as well as their food..
