Great organization working for creating peace in the world through art and children. It was great to work with CPP in Nepal in 2011.
I have been supporting CPP for years and love the work they're doing to raise awareness around peace and kindness with young people. We need this type of work more than ever and Ross and team have done amazing things over the years. I encourage others to educate themselves into the work CPP is doing and donate to support their efforts. Thanks to CPP - great job. Chris
CPP collaborated with our NGO in Uganda, In Movement: Art for Social Change. It was a wonderful learning opportunity both for our students and our facilitators. The youth were inspired to create, and to share positive messages with other young people. I highly recommend CPP and its dynamic founder, Ross, for work with youth, especially in an international context.
We love what Create Peace has added to an otherwise dingy wall on our middle school gym. It looks beautiful and brings a lot of joy.
I have seen Create Peace Project develop from a small banner after school project for kids to a full blown global mural and postcard exchange that touches many many lives. To me this is one of the best projects out there for building a dialog for peace. Create Peace project led by Ross Holzman plants seeds in our future generations to find inner peace and community artistic expression of what peace looks like. What a beautiful impact this project has on the world.
As Principal of Claire Lilienthal K-8 School in San Francisco, our students, teachers, and entire community enjoyed working with the Create Peace Project for many years. Students learned about different cultures around the world, and made 1:1 connections with other students in many regions that suffer from war and poverty. Brilliant and inspiring and artistic post cards were exchanged, bringing messages of peace, which were eventually displayed in our school. Ross and the Create Peace Project also presented beautiful and inspiring slide shows showing the faces of the students and teachers from the places they had traveled, the schools they visited, and the joy of the exchange. Also, Ross and the Create Peace Project coordinated a number of both indoor and outdoor murals on our school property, working with students, classroom teachers, and our ExCel After School Programs. These murals were beautifully and professionally completed, and will be a part of our school for many years to come, bringing messages of peace and joy to everyone in our school community, every day. This organization is amazing, great fun to work with, and brings a valuable lesson and experience during these difficult times in our world. We would like to see this program grow to become a city wide partnership with the San Francisco Unified School District and the Create Project for Create Peace murals and billboards throughout the city, as well as continuing the excellent work in our schools.
Working with the Create Peace Project was an incredible experience. The seed idea was to create a welcoming mural on the side of the gym for 500 or so students bussed from elsewhere to our school in the Oakland hills. We began the week-long process of painting, designing, and finishing our Love - Peace - Equity mural, with the help of students, staff, and community members of Montera Middle School in Oakland Unified School District. Every day when I walk to our gym I am greeted by a sunburst of beautiful people and colors. The mural has become part of our landscape. It reflects the happiness we want to foster in the youth who come our way, on their journey through life. I highly recommend Create Peace Project for your school or community group.
createpeaceproject.org is a new movement that gets to the core of change immediately. I had the distinct pleasure to meet Ross Holzman with his "banner concept for peace." I was "in" the moment I heard about it! Before I knew it one idea evolved to another; and our campus commissioned him through a GoFundMe account to create a peace mural. I was truly astonished that it began and finished within a week.
From the beginning to the end of the project Ross was kind, diligent and extremely resourceful. He truly went the extra mile to make Montera Middle School's Heroes Mural Project successful.
Ross was direct about the business aspect; yet had an enormous presence of creativity and talent as he worked with the youth. This unique balance allowed us to experience peace through the arts. The mural is now a constant reminder of joy. Thank you for your excellence!
Create Peace Project engaged the community with art in Richmond, CA. It was a wonderful success and the mural is a beautiful addition to the city!
I went to India with the Create Peace Project as a photographer. I went to help others discover peace by helping Ross. During the course of our travel, I heard many stories, I saw so hopeful eyes and I witnessed magic and it was I who was transformed by the beauty, vision and scope of the project . The peace exchange was amazing! The students would express their vision for peace in a drawing and receive an image of peace drawn by a child in another country, which we carried by hand. The kids were incredible, grateful and this special project encouraged kids in the farthest reaches to come to school to participate. Their simple visions of peace are a living example to a troubled world to keep it simple and choose peace. Apparently, this is harder than it sounds, but not according to the kids. Take a look at just one class we did to see the changes.
Volunteered with Create Peace Project (CPP) on one of its mural projects at a middle school school in San Francisco. It was truly remarkable to experience the impact CPP has on the kids as well as volunteers. In the spirit of cooperation and collaboration, CPP brings out the best in everybody. We need more NGOs that deliver true life changing impact in the world as Create Peace Project does.

Create Peace Project unifies and beautifies at the same time, unleashing each student's talent while building the peace building skills of the entire school community. I have watched them take drab school walls and bring student imagination to completely transform the culture of the school. They have exceptional organizational and artistic skills to involve up to 600 students in a project.

I love how Create Peace Project channels the wild enthusiasm of young people into high quality imagery that adds to the possibility of peace in their schools, their community and their world. The programs light up the hope and imagination of students, whether its a one-day creation of peace postcards that are exchanged with young people around the world or a five-month mural project that involves the whole school. This is just what kids need - total engagement, creative collaboration, learning peace practices and purposeful impact.
Create Peace Project fills me with so much joy! I love watching children and adults work together, make art together, have fun and play together. Art making is peace making and that's what I see every time I engage with Create Peace Project. If you feel inspired, you can support us here: www.createpeaceproject.org/donate
I brought my daughter and a friend of hers to join with the Create Peace Project on one of their mural painting projects, where I saw people of all ages and ethnicities working together on an art project in the name of peace. The Create Peace Project has many other ways of getting people to work together, including a peace exchange where kids of the world work send postcards with peace messages to each other. What they are doing is planting the seeds for the next generation to be peaceful as they mature. Plus, they do it in a fun creative way were people really get to use their creative spark (even those of us who barely know how to find ours).
