Reviews for COMPASSION FOUNDATION

The Compassion Foundation has been providing grants to organizations who help those in needs for 21 years. This year, they decided that along with their regular funding cycle, they needed to help in additional ways. They created an alliance between Big Brothers Big Sisters and Sci-Tech Science Museum that allowed 20 low income children the opportunity to go to summer camp at no cost. They helped families with case management services when they were facing eviction, job loss and other issues caused by the economy. They assisted families in getting services that lead to housing, employment, food, shelter and clothing. They ran mini fundraisers so they could give those contributions to fill in the gaps in funding ie. giving to an agencies client holiday giving program.
If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...
Find a way to help get more contributions so they could give more. They want to give as much as they can! Help get some more active board members. Get another computer.
What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...
The staff will go out of the way to make things happen for the people in the community. Very creative in approach and partnering with community organizations. This is a granting organization but they will create partnerships between other organizations.
The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...
Very dedicated to the mission. They do what it takes to get their jobs done.
If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...
They might hire one more staff but they have next to no overhead and like it that way. They want to be able to grant what they can. They would invest wisely and plan for granting operations
Ways to make it better...
We had more than one computer to share!
In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...
They need more board members and to expand their donor registry
One thing I'd also say is that...
How frequently have you been involved with the organization?
About every week
