With CARES my family has gained knowledge and compassion for our community. Our children love volunteering. CARES has paved the path for our children to become compassionate adults. We are so grateful to have found CARES! Thanks to CARES our children are sharing their experiences with their peers.

Cares Rescue is the best! We have personally witnessed their compassion and love, for we have adopted one of their amazing and well cared for, rescued dogs. KC would not be with us today, had it not been for their swift response in getting him the help, he so badly needed. Here he sits, on my lab, while I am writing this, fast asleep in his forever home. Thank you so much Cares Rescue, you are absolutely the best and we love KC so much.

Lisa and everyone that volunteers with CARES are amazing!!! We adopted Flash earlier this year. He had been through a tough time before Lisa brought him into her rescue and healed him. We are so lucky to have Flash in our family, and thankful to Lisa and everyone at CARES for the great work they do.

I was looking to adopt a dog for the family. I had been to every shelter in two counties. No dog was just the right fit. I accidentally came across a wonderful lady named Diane who volunteered for CARES Rescue. She was patient and listened to what I wanted in a family dog. My family visited Diane and spent 3 hours with her and some of her adoptable animals. I finally adopted Truffles, a very beautiful. lovable GSD. Perfect family dog who is still with us. I have since met a few other volunteers and they all have the same dedication and love for animals. They CARE about the animals

I met Lisa and Diane at a yard sale. They were there raising money for C.A.R.E.S. I was not ready for another dog. We had recently lost our older dog. Diane really listened when I said that I didn't want a puppy. I wanted an older dog, a "senior' dog. She was so patient and showed me every picture of every dog. Two months later I looked at the website and saw Truffles. Truffles had been with CARES for 18 months. They kept her all that time because the right people had never come along to adopt her. You see their animals don't just go to anybody. They do meet and greets with the whole family. They check their adopters. Because they CARE about the animals. I have since referred volunteers and adopters to this organization. Truffles is a perfect fit for our family.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

Change nothing

Lisa and Diane are a joy to work with! They are so devoted and so are all the other staff , volunteers and foster families. We adopted our Westie, Toby in 2015, and it was a smooth process and good experience. We love our little rescue!
The work CARES has done with the Redlands dogs in Miami is unbelievable! To save 100+ dogs from a certain death and help them recover and then find loving homes is so amazing! I am happy to donate occasionally and wish I could do more to help out, but I live 2 hours away! Good luck to all of you for a fine job!
Thank you for all your concern, love, efforts and TLC to these sweet animals in need!
All the best, Bonnie Byrne

A year ago we lost our little girl of 16 years. In April, we saw this precious picture on a web site. CARES rescued this little girl from the Redlands and gave her hope. They then gave us a large piece of our heart. Since then we have seen all the positive work they do, the many animals that they have saved, the tremendous fundraisers they have and more importantly the love of the volunteers. This is a fantastic organization that needs more exposure, support and donations to help them help these animals not just survive but thrive

I have been a volunteer and supporter of this organization for almost 2 years now. I fall in love with every dog there, but one in particular pulled at my heartstrings this past December. Yeller had been dumped from a car and had only been at CARES for 2 weeks when I knew I had to have him for my very own. He was renamed Skipper and has made us the happiest fur-ever family in Hernando County. CARES always puts the need if the animal first. It is one lucky cat/dog that ends up in their care!

I have been a weekly volunteer at CARES since August 2014. Every dog that is lucky enough to end up at CARES is thoroughly socialized before Lisa allows it to be adopted into its fur-ever home. Their personal traits and characteristics are matched up so that they end up with families that will give them the love, care, and attention that some of them have never experienced. There are times that animals must be returned; when that happens, they are welcomed back into the CARES family until they can be matched up with another lucky family. All these animals want is to give and to receive love...that begins with their journey into the CARES family. I highly recommend any of these dogs to anyone ready to make a lifetime commitment to these precious animals.

I live in Ohio and and got Zoey (the cutest dog in the world) from Cares Rescue and she has brought me so much joy. Cares knew I was a first time dog owner and walk me through it step by step. I still reach out if I have questions and they always give me guidance. Class act rescue!

We adopted our dog Pongo from Cares a few weeks ago and couldn't be happier. The ladies at Cares are so sweet and professional. They are on top of their site and I was impressed with how quickly they respond. If anyone is looking for a furry family member I would absolutely recommend going through Cares!

We adopted an older cocker from CARES even tho' she wasn't truly what we were hoping for, but she was so aloof, withdrawn I feared she would never get a home! She had 2 and a half years with us, and her love and affection that came with time was worth every effort. She was truly a great example in how much you can help an older dog, how much love they have to give, and how they can all be saved if we just open our hearts and try!

About 3 years ago we adopted an older, black cocker from CARES. I adore the people of this rescue organization for seeing that this poor and despondent dog still should have an opportunity for a loving home and wonderful days for the rest of her life. Too many organizations take only those that are easy to find homes for, but CARES truly cares and helps in every way they can. What a wonderful opportunity to see that in action and to share our life with one who needed it so badly. Thank you and hugs to all!
