Christian Military Fellowship reaches out to all ranks and rates in all branches of the U.S. military, their families and those who work on military installations to help those who are Christians live their faith boldly every day. It is a peer ministry which disciples and equips those who are members to reach out to their fellow sailors and soldiers. There are direct services as well as support, particularly during this unique war on terror. The focus currently is how to better equip our military prior to deployment, how to minister to them and their families during deployment and how to more effectively help them reunite with family and society after deployment. The focus is upon military Christians as well as those who are not Christian.
I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...
lives which have been changed and families who are better able to cope with the unique military life demands.
If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...
basically keep things as they are but would seek to more effectively link members in each geographical location than is now being done although the directory which is available is a vital tool for relating to others.
What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...
the linking up with other Christians who seek to serve our military. There are many services available to members. The Electronic Battle Plan is a constant update for those who have a heart to serving our military.
The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...
dedicated Christians who sincerely seek to serve all of our military, their families, and the civilians working at installations in a non-judgmental manner.
If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...
provide marriage or singles retreats, more books and resources and become more of a staff ministry to better serve our military.
Ways to make it better...
the military and its chaplains were more aware of CMF and other para-church organizations and were more open to partenering with these organizations.
In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...
Finances. The philosophy is that it is a faith ministry which does not have dues. If God provides $1,000,000 or $1 through churches, chapels and individuals then that money will be used in the best manner possible to serve our military. God will provide.
One thing I'd also say is that...
regardless of what we have, God knows our needs and will meet those needs. The marvelous thing is that God knew every need even before He created the universe. He knows each of us and provides for each in His Way and Time.
