Having known Mark and his community for over four years, I have personally witnessed the good character and the sound status of Cedar River First Nations on many occasions and in many venues. As an officer retiring after thirty years of service to our great nation, and remaining a Veteran active in Veterans Affairs at the Veteran Service Officer (VSO) Linn County level, as well as the Veterans Health Administration (VHA) Iowa City, I confirm Mark and his organization are a good friend to all Veterans in Cedar Rapids and Eastern Iowa. Cedar River First Nations literally save lives by the selfless services they provide the community. I am writing today to confirm I have benefitted from, attest to, and have personally contributed toward the financial good standing of Cedar River First Nations. I whole-heartedly attest to the character and good standing writ-large of Cedar River First Nations Church. If you require any further information to verify Cedar River First Nations’ good standing within the City of Cedar Rapids and all of Eastern Iowa, please do not hesitate to contact me. Sincerely, Theodore C. Lockhart Colonel, United States Army (Retired) Veteran

We employed Mark in August of 2017 until February of 2019. He quickly became an integral part of our team with his vast knowledge and numerous contacts that he had in our community we serve.

From the start it was easy to see that Mark had a passion for helping people. He had been doing it for years with his own organization and he was a great addition to our team. He helped numerous people when others couldn’t, and I began to give him the hardest clients that I could, and he handled them all with ease.

In early 2018 Mark was elected to the Plugged-In Iowa board as President. He helped shape different aspects of our programs and was a great resource for the rest of the board.

In February of 2019 we faced a downturn in business, and we could no longer support the staff that we had on our rolls, so we had to downsize drastically. Unfortunately, that is when we had to end our relationship with several our staff including Mark.

Mark still remains a resource for us when we need him and he will always be a part of our organizations history.
