As a former president of a chapter of Bridges to Community, I feel highly indebted to this organization. First, because of my trip with B2C to Nicaragua, I was regained by belief in the good of service and the possibility of effecting change through dedicated non-profits. Second, I have learned more about another country in the world. Third, due to my learning about others, I have in turn learned about myself, and seen what moves me. Communities like Siuna where Bridges operates motivate me to emulate the same hard-working attitude and drive to improve the world around me that the locals there all so clearly share. Finally, my B2C trip gave me new friendships, in a new country, that I know will last me for my whole life.

The impressions my students get from this trip is what keeps me going back year after year. One of my students stated that: “Leaving the people behind when we depart is the most difficult part of the trip, but what eases the transition is going to sleep at night knowing that you have allowed a family to no longer worry about not having a roof over their head."
Bridges staff is beyond professional, and sets a very high standard for every aspect of the operation. They are polite, friendly, and enthusiastic and it is contagious! As a teacher who has taken many school trips over the years, Bridges is by far the most accommodating I have encountered. Every student should be fortunate enough to experience a Bridges trip in their lifetime!
