Programs:

Girls and women who reside in aBridge of Faith H.O.M.E. (Home Opportunity Meets Emancipation) participate inour innovative Value, Importance, Purpose (VIP) program that focuses on self-esteem,physical and mental health, life-skills development, financial development, andback-to-work and school/job-readiness training. Upon entry to the program,residents receive a series of evaluations (medical, behavioral, financial,relational, parental). A recovery plan for the resident is then created, whichincludes long- and short-term goals, action steps, and a timeline. Parentingclasses are also introduced early on as well as substance abuse plans for thosewho struggle with drugs and alcohol. As residents move through the program,they learn about and engage in financial planning/management, educational andcareer planning, nutrition and physical fitness, goal development, angermanagement, workplace etiquette, interpersonal communication, and communityservice. Many residents receive job training and workplace socialization atBridge of Faith’s retail store and fundraising arm, Up*Scale Collectibles.Intensive counseling services are also provided to all residents. Throughindividual and group counseling, residents are able to gain personal insightand strength as they develop tools for breaking cyclical patterns ofdependency.

Annually, more than 20 individualsreceive our residential services and 200 more receive support in the form ofsocial service referrals, family unification services, and case management.Since its inception, Bridgeof Faith has served morethan 7,500 women and their families. While Bridge of Faithand the VIP program were inspired by the founder’s personal faith, the programis nonsectarian.

Mission:
Our commitment is to provide a HOME, emotional support, and life-skills to girls who have "aged out" of foster care, and women facing homelessness. Under-girding the mission isthe following vision, recently developed by the Board of Directors: to providea safe environment that nurtures young women to become emotionally stable,educated, self-supporting women of purpose with their own voice.
