Nonprofit Overview

Causes: Food, Food Banks & Pantries, Food Programs, Human Service Organizations, Human Services

Mission: Bread of Life Fellowship, Inc. is a faith-based 501 (C) (3) organization that has been feeding the needy throughout Central Florida since 1991. We have the privilege of providing food (physically and spiritually) for adults and children in need; especially those who live at or below the poverty level, are homeless or unemployed, individuals with disabilities, orphans and seniors. We pick up donations from companies throughout the state of Florida, sort the items in our warehouse and distribute them to our affiliated organizations across Central Florida. These outreach organizations are primarily grassroots ministries like churches and community centers, drug/alcohol rehabilitation facilities, assisted living homes, homeless shelters and more.

Results: In 2013, Bread of Life Fellowship and our network of outreach programs provided food and hope to 71,092 families in Central Florida. This included 82,069 adults and 30,669 children in nine counties. We tracked 30,520 volunteer hours and received over 2.6 million pounds of donated goods at our warehouse. The biggest blessing was knowing that 1,831 people gave their lives to Christ as a result of the counseling and prayer offered by our outreach programs.

Target demographics: Low-income families who are food-insecure

Direct beneficiaries per year: 71,092 families throughout Central Florida

Geographic areas served: Orange, Lake, Seminole, Polk, Sumter, Osceola and several other Central Florida counties

Programs: free food days, meals to the homeless, emergency boxes of food and a variety of other outreach programs. These are often grassroots ministries like churches, community centers, senior living facilities, rehabilitation centers, etc. They provide food and a message of hope (counseling/prayer) to all who come in need, free of charge.

Having been involved with Bread of Life Fellowship as a volunteer and Board Member, I have seen the care and compassion from all those involved to share blessings with those less fortunate. The founder's selfless dedication to salvation through groceries has saved countless souls and provided practical needs for years in the central Florida area

I am now honored to work with these amazing people at Bread of Life Fellowship! I have known about the organization for many years, but have just recently gotten involved and I am blown away by the honest character and passion of the employees and regular volunteers. They truly are terrific stewards with the items donated to them, making sure that their partner ministries are equipped to feed people in need. And unlike other food banks, they do not charge a fee for any of the goods they distribute...if an organization can make a donation they will accept it, but they will not turn them away if they can't!

My name is Jacqulyne Jones, I am a Board member for Bread of Life fellowship. i met Mark Anthony 7 years ago collecting bread. He is a remarkable gentleman. He is very dedicated to the service of other people. Christ comes first then other people needs. He gets up early in the am to pick up food and other donations from different donors or stores. It becomes an all day job plus run the office with 1 full time driver and 1 part time administrative person and a faith budget! His family is very supportive but his love for God and Gods people over rides everything .This is a wonderful Non-Profit organization providing food and substance for the needy community at hand with a smile. i am proud to be a part of such an honest straight forward and loving organization. May God continue to bless and keep them.

Hi my name is Jeff and I have been associated with Bread of Life Fellowship for over ten years. Recently, I have had the privilege to volunteer with some of the organizations who receive food from BOLF and feed the homeless downtown and others living in the woods. It is incredible to see the impact that the work is having on people's life. This work is about so much more than food and yet the food opens the flood gates to so much more...

Even though I am a Co -founder and board member, I am constantly amazed at the way Bread of Life Fellowship operates. They operate on a shoe string budget. At times there is not at lot of cash flow and things look bleak. But that does not stop them. In 2010, 60,314 families received food and 4,101 received Christ through Bread of Life’s monthly food programs. Over 56,290 volunteer hours were recorded and 4,894,376 pounds of food was distributed through our warehouse – of which the recipients paid nothing.

All of this is done with 1 full time warehouse manager/driver, 2 part time office personnel , and the founder.

On top of the monthly programs , there is a program that happens at Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas. The Food For Families program operates with a minimum of 600 volunteers that pack food boxes and then delivers the boxes to 900 or more local families. At an average of 4 people per family , that is 3600 people that they provide food for in one weekend --three times a year.

I volunteer at Bread of Life Fellowship at various times throughout the year and often help to proof-read grants before they are delivered. I am amazed how this organization operates with the dedicated volunteers and only two full-time and one part-time employee.

I would like to say that the Bread of life fellowship has been a tremendous blessing to my community here in Kissimmee florida by providing food to those who are in need. They also help the local community church feed the homeless as well.
