BEDS, Inc.
Mission:
BEDS emergency overnight shelter has three strategic goals: 1) Maintain quality service to the homeless 2) inform the public regarding issues of homelessness, and 3) help people regain self-sufficiency. Eight local churches provide sites for our shelter and about 800 volunteers assist 250-300 people annually.

I volunteered on the 3rd shift this year, which operates from 3am to 11:30am. When I arrived at the shelter, the clients were asleep. My role at this time was to monitor the sleep area and make rounds to make sure everyone was safe and calm.
