I have had the most fulfilling, live changing experience working at ACPPA. I found this organization through a work-study program at my college and have been working there for 5 months. From the start, I have learned to appreciate the hard work that is put into making an non-profit organization be successful. ACPPA resembles the love I had for dancing as a child, however, the economic instability at home didn't allow me to continue perusing dance classes. ACPPA is able to provide amazing dance, art, yoga classes at affordable prices to families that need them. I have become a better person working at ACPPA and have been inspired to pursue a career in helping families in need. I wish that everyone knew how GREAT this organization is.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

learning about myself and the passion I have in helping those families, especially those children, in Norristown who benefit from taking our classes.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

make sure that we had the amount of money necessary to continue all our programs successfully and more to create new programs to reach out to more students, especially teenagers who could benefit from having safe, fun classes keeping them off the street.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

working with the Artistic Director, Amy Grebe. She is an amazing person who gives and gives for this organization and continues to fight for her dreams in continuing the success of ACPPA.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

very friendly, loving, and dedicated to the goals of the organization

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

become the BEST non-profit organization in all of Norristown. We would have a larger location, we would have bigger classes, we would have more dance and art classes, we would have more costumes for performances, a teen program, parent programs, ETC ETC

Ways to make it better...

I were not a college student and could work more hour and accomplish more tasks that would help the organization. Also, it would be better if we were able to concentrate more in organizing events rather than worry about our economic problems.

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

the economic struggles that continue to hinder our ability to create all the programs and host all the events that we wish we could provide for our families.

One thing I'd also say is that...

I have never been involved with an organization that cares so much about the people that it serves and fights through all the obstacles in order to achieve the goals it sets out for itself in order to provide the best service possible.

My children have attended the Summer Arts program at ACPPA over the past two summers and we could not be more excited for this year's program. We first found the program when seeking a reasonably priced summer program for our children. But there is simply no comparison for what this camp teaches our children. All children from 3 years of age and up are exposed to the full gambit of arts and culture. They study music and dance, visual arts and art history, they even do yoga! My kids love the claymation class and the super cool music video they created last year. Last year ACPPA also offered an extended day program that not only gave them more opportunities to do art and dance, but they also did lots of fun "campy" types of things like baking projects and crafts. They even brought in a wading pool and a moonbounce! At the end of it all, they put together this great show for the parents with costumes and props. Its just amazing!

My daughter has been taking dance and art classes with this organization since they began in the director's basement! It has been such an amazing experience to be a part of the growth of an organization that is providing a much needed service to our community. The families served by this organization are truly blessed and walk away with so much more than just an education in art or dance, they learn life skills that help to lift them from the many challenges they face.

My daughter is currently taking a dance class at the ACPPA and we love it! Her teacher is caring and fun. I'm excited to have my children involved in their other art programs as they get older. ACPPA is doing great things in the Norristown community!

My children and I have been taking classes for 3 years. We started when ACPPA was renting space from the library and a local church. They have seen such growth and advancement. They offer my children a place to express themselves in the arts. We have taken classes in ballet, drawing, clay, mommy and me, yoga and sewing. We participate in all the added activities as well such as Parents night out, fundraisers, camps, etc. My children enjoy going to class at ACPPA.

ACPPA is a wonderful organization that is fully committed to the underserved community where we live. It offers children, teens, and adults the opportunity to explore various art forms that many in our community would otherwise not be able to experience. ACPPA makes art accessible, affordable, and exciting.

I have seen ACPPA get stronger and help so many kids over the past year. Even though I don't have children of my own yet, I love to encourage small start-ups like this, especially in an area that needs the help.

My whole family has benefited from being apart of the family that is ACPPA. My oldest daughter started taking art classes over 3 years ago and we aven't stopped taking classes since. I love that my children have a place to freely express their artistic side through dance and art, but also a safe place in our community where they can connect with the caring teachers and bond with a diverse group of kids. We take classes weekly, go to the Parents Nights Out, go to the community events and even take adult classes. I can honestly say I don't know what I'd do without the ACPPA.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

seeing children blossom and shine through art that would not have had a chance to do so if it wasn't for the ACPPAs chance for scholarships and extremely affordable classes.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

that it feels like family. Everyone that enters can tell it is a safe place to express yourself and a fun place to be.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

talented, understanding and very patient. I'm still not sure how the ballet teacher can keep all those 3 year olds concentrating on what they are doing.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

reach it's full potential. The genius behind ACPPA is that they give it all away. As more money comes in they give it out in programs and events to our little city. If they had more money they could buy their facility and reach all the kids in Norristown.

ACPPA has enriched my family's life beyond measure since we discovered the center 2 years ago. My four children and I have participated in a variety of classes, workshops, and events there, including drawing, clay, Storybook art, ballet, spraypainting, "Open Studio," yoga, sewing, mural painting, birthday parties, seasonal festivals and fundraisers, and summer arts camp. Each experience has been an opportunity for personal exploration and free [removed]not cookie-cutter formula crafts). We have all been welcomed as unique individuals and encouraged to grow and thrive as artists and as part of our local community. Because I have appreciated the way ACPPA has enriched my family, I have also served as a volunteer in the past year, and have found that to be tremendously fulfilling and enriching as well!
