From the Spring of 2012 through July of the same year I served on the Organizing Committee of a Fundraising Luncheon to Benefit AFAM.
Being a part of the Committee not only allowed me to Support a First Class Organization, it Inspired me to Grow and be more efficient and effective in my personal and Business Life.
Lillian Harris is a relentless, committed and compassionate Leader whose platform impacts the Lives of Adolescent Mothers and their Children in a most profound and lasting manner that equips them through extended mentorship to stabilize and create a solid foundation upon which they may forge and create a Legacy for their Children and beyond.
The unique programming coupled with a strong emphasis on Education gives the Participants a broader view and spectrum of Life that expands not only their minds, it also affects their capacity to embrace a Vision for their lives that opens doors of Opportunity for each one to become a productive member of Society at large.
This vital advocacy is essential, especially as it addresses issues and brings resolution in a way that impacts multiple generations!!!

I had the amazing opportunity to be apart of a career panel for Advocates for Adolescent Mothers. It was one of the most fulfilling things I had done. I was able to share information regarding my chosen career and answer any questions that the young ladies had. After the panel discussion we were able to speak with the young ladies one on one to encourage them and let them know they can accomplish anything they desire to achieve. I have know Lillian for over 10 years and her work ethic is second to none. More importantly her passion to help young moms succeed in life is both impressive and moving at the same time. I am so thankful for the opportunity I was given to be apart of such an awesome event

As a donor and past volunteer panelist for the organization's Career Day, I can speak first-hand to the effectiveness with which the organization supports it program participants. Having been a single teen mom myself, seeing the positive impact that the program has on this highly underserved population is truly inspirational. Providing young mothers with access to resources and peer engagement that they likely wouldn't otherwise have access to sets Advocates for Adolescent Mothers apart from other social service agencies that I have had the privilege of working with.

AMFAM is an organization with a proven record of supporting young women and teen mothers that are vulnerable to dropping out of school or having to put their education on hold, limiting their economic opportunities and ability to provide for their family. As a founding supporter, I have watched the founder Lillian Harris walk the walk as she eloquently talks the talk through her lived experience of triumph over adversity.

AFAM is the passion project of someone who experienced first hand what it was like to be a teenage mom, homeless, and all the odds stacked against you.
The courage to not only transform your own life but then turn around and dedicate your life to being a lifeline for others to transform their lives is one of the most honorable acts a human can do.
I’m extremely proud of the strides made by AFAM with the grants, workshops for college moms, and Christmas coat/toy drives and I look forward to this Organizations continued growth.

This is a great organization with an important mission. The support afforded to these young mothers is vital and address their specific needs. The founder of this organization, Lillian Harris, understands that adolescent mothers are themselves still growing and developing; and despite their very real adult responsibilities, they are still children themselves as well as mothers, and require s twice the level of care and protection that every young girl iin our society is to. Advocates for Adolescent Mothers is a great organization. I attended high school with the founder, Lillian Harris. Her and her team does a wonderful job advocating for teen moms.

They offer resources to help the moms continue their education. They offer programs for childcare, scholarships, housing and grants. They also hold a holiday drive every year to off coats and toys to the mothers and their children.

I have know Lillian Harris for 20 years. she has done a wonderful job in giving back to the community. She has perseverance in getting the job done. AFAM is the model of that Achievement. I have watched the Program grow and blossom into a vital and critical program that is needed in the communties to help the young ladies served.
AFAM creates good relationships, offer support to help identify their needs, indepedency, raising their children, and education. I became aware of this organization when my daughter told me that she applied for the Educational Empowerment Program the organization has. Because of this organization and the grant she received, my daughter was able to graduate in 2016 with her Bachelor's degree in Psychology. She is now a mother of 2 and with the continued guidance, support and motivation from this organization, she is now pursuing her Master's degree. This program has been and will continue to be a blessing to so many young mothers like my daughter. Lillian Harris is a wonderful mentor and advocate and I couldn't have asked for a better person to be apart of my daughter's journey.

I am a proud supporter of the Advocates of Adolescent Mothers, as I understand that the foundation of all communities begins with the mother; AFAM provides assistance to single mothers in communities with the greatest need, providing them with the skills to have agency other their own lives and ultimately creating better futures for their children.

Many young Mothers would benefit from the programs and support offered from Advocates for Adolescent Mothers. In efforts to fight poverty, stop child abuse, help Mothers further their education, and stop the Homelessness of Teen Mothers they take the initiative to host charity drives and give monetary and emotional support to Mother's in college. They are a supportive and a driving force for young Mothers who want to earn their college degree and for those who want to raise their children in a stable environment. They are changing the lives of many young mothers and their children. Programs such as this are greatly needed within our communities as the need for further education has become a vital source of survival in today's society.

I love advocates for adolescent mother's non profit organization. I volunteered a few times and the love that the facility showed towards the mothers is remarkable. The support that is organization gives is beyond amazing. They definitely make each mother feel amazing. I remember one year I volunteered and donated toys for the children for Christmas. I walked in to help wrap gifts and was amazed at how organized and detail they were. I sat there so excited to be apart of something so amazing. I want to thank them for all of the love and support that they give these mother's. I would volunteer a million more times...you guys rock

Advocates for Adolescent Mothers is a wonderful organization that provides amazing services and support for young mothers and their children. I have volunteered with AFAM over the last several years - during the holidays wrapping presents for the children, I ran with the AFAM Shamrock Shuffle Team and wrapped presents at a local mall to raise funds, and have donated to the organization. I also attended various fundraising events for the organization which were presented at central venues with the utmost of excellence and professionalism. I am impressed by the passion and determination that Lillian has for the organization and the people served. I delight in seeing the mothers and children's joy at the various outings that I have witnessed. This is an superb nonprofit doing wonderful work in the Chicagoland area. Kudos and all the best for much continued success - truly you have my support!

I had the usual questions when I was asked to donate to this organization. What do they do, and who do they do it for? Simply put, they provide resources for single mothers. This was of interest to me, because more than 50% of the children in Chicago are being raised by single mothers. There are many ramifications that correlate to this statistic. Too many to write about here, and most are disheartening. I've been supporting the Christmas gift drive for the past 3 years, and often feel like that's just a drop in the bucket.
AFAM keep, keeping on!

I had the distinct pleasure of observing an Advocates of Adolescent Mothers workshop recently. The stories shared by the young mothers will always have a profound effect on me. What Advocates of Adolescent Mothers have been able to achieve with the young mothers is absolutely moving. Although I am not a single mother, I was able to pull inspiration from the young mothers in the workshop. I hope Advocates of Adolescent Mothers continues to make an impact in the community.

Does great work for young moms in school! We were happy to work with them on our fundraiser.

This is my forth year volunteering with AFAM and I can say that I haven't regretted one minute of the time that I shared. Working with the moms in the educational program in the workshops have been the most rewarding for me. Interacting with the young mothers, mentoring them, listening to their stories and watching them learn and develop into stronger moms makes you so excited.

I met Lillian Harris when she was a teenager before AFAM was birthed. Being such a determined individual who I viewed as always having a dream, a goal, a vision to strive for greatness, I marvel at the message she's made out of what society would have defined differently.
My reason for contributing to her cause is because I believe that the "VILLAGE" is STILL NECESSARY! Whatever we are able to do to build up our girls and show them that bigger opportunities are possible, we MUST DO, and this is my way of doing..

I was once an teen mom, and didn't know of any nonprofit organizations such as this one that offered resources for young mothers in need. So I felt compelled to donate so that someone could benefit from the many resources that A.F.A.M has to offer. Overall this is a Great Organization, and I would be willing to volunteer or donate when needed!

Lillian has done an amazing job with the young adults she mentors and services. I am always inspired by her commitment to the girls as she truly puts all of her energy and heart into the program. We will continue supporting this great program.

I have volunteered for AFAM for many years and each years things in this organization gets better. This organization searches and find ways to better the lives of young moms such as myself. She works extremely hard to find resources, scholarship, grants, housing and many other things so young women can be successful. She very dedicated to her organization which I love about her. I am a former adolescent mother herself, and i'm currently putting myself through college for the second time. I came to find out about AFAM from doing a paper on Overcoming Obstacles for my English class. I'm so glad i learned about this organization, and honestly, i wish that it was around when i was in my teens and . There are many NFPs that cater to teen parenthood prevention, but few that attempt to combat homelessness, poverty and abuse and promote furthering education and encouraging success the way that AFAM does. There are so many similarities in the founder and myself, and i'm so grateful that organizations like these exist, to give hope and encouragement where it is much needed. Teen moms shouldn't be the forgotten ones, the misfits, the judged. AFAM gives these girls and their families the opportunity to lead productive successful lives.

Love this organization! Currently enrolled and it's the best decision I made as a young mother. They truly help you in college and life. Since the inception of AFAM, we at SB Enterprises, Inc. (SBE) have always enjoyed watching their works and continued growth under the founders leadership. SBE has taken great pleasure in our donations to AFAM as contributions are distributed to assist teenage mothers in breaking the abuse and poverty cycle and replacing with empowerment, education, and sense of value and worth. Organizations such as AFAM must stay relevant and in existence due to the overwhelming need of the services they provide. We fully support AFAM and their efforts and urge others who are able, to also support this organization as they strive to achieve their mission.

I recently volunteered for AFAM to create their new brochure. The founder, Lillian Harris and I worked very well together. The response time was fine because she would let me know when she would respond back to me and she did. It was a positive experience for which we both got something out of it. She has a great brochure to hand out to promote her organization and I got a chance to get more brochure design experience. I learn a lot from this experience which is just because you have a child young, that doesn't mean you can't pursue your goals and dreams. I hope AFAM will be a continued success.

My experience with AFAM is as a volunteer at Roosevelt University and the organization is definitely important and needed in our City. The AFAM Infinite Legacy League had several events that I helped with to raise awareness and support the nonprofit. The founder is very diligent and organized which is what helps the organization thrive. My experience with the nonprofit as a whole was very rewarding and gave me insight into an organization that is doing work that not many nonprofits are doing.

AFAM is an amazing organization, I have personally witnessed the positive impact AFAM provides for young mothers. So many times we see nonprofits come and go but I know and believe Advocate for Adolescent Mothers is here to stay. AFAM is committed and invested in their mission by supporting teenage mothers and helping them to stay focused on education. I had the honor to be a part of the Lucheon Host Committee and the experience was richly rewarding to my heart.

As a teen mother myself I stand 100% behind AFAM and is why I have been a supporter and donor since day one. I became aware of Advocates for Adolescent Mothers when I applied for the Educational Empowerment Program Grant to help pay for my last semester of college. Since then, I have finished school, graduating from Roosevelt University with a BA in Psychology. I was the first person in my family to not only earn a college degree, but a high school diploma as well. I am so grateful to have met Lillian Harris and being apart of AFAM. I too became a mother at a young age, but being apart of AFAM, I learned that my dreams were not impossible to reach because I had a child young. Lillian Harris has taught me to use the obstacles that I have been faced with as motivation to exceed expectations. AFAM gave me a sense of belonging and a platform to share my story with other young moms and to be able to celebrate the accomplishments that no one thought we could achieve. I am thankful to have been apart of such an amazing organization.

I have been supporting and donating to Advocates For Adolescent Mothers (AFAM) since its conception. I love the purpose of the organization. Often times young women are ridiculed for poor decisions when in fact it is those times that the need the most support. Being able to donate money and time to AFAM has been so beneficial; to the moms I have helped, as well as to myself. The young ladies I have cone in contact with have taught me how to be more compassionate and empathetic to those around me. Without an organization and an affiliation like AFAM, I might have missed on that self growth opportunity.

I am a volunteer with AFAM! I helped out recently with the After School Matters program. Lillian was a great mentor to the young ladies there. She gave valuable information and shared her story to give the young ladies a sense of guildance. I decided to volunteer because I am a young my myself and I always looked to Lillian as a mentor. With me being around the young ladies age I chose to share my story just because I could talk to them as my peers.. AFAM is a great organization overall!

AFAM is an awesome organization that really focus' on assisting teen moms on a consistent basis. I can remember what my siblings and I went through as children. Single mother bouncing around family/shelter/housing. As small children we don't understand our parents struggle, but as we grow older we realize what it took to care for and provide for us. Lillian and her organization serve a critical function for single mothers and I'm proud to be able to support in any way possible!

I've been to some of the advocates for adolescent mother's events supporting the founder/my sister Lillian Harris and they are amazing! Everyone always has a great time and just to see the passion my sister has for this inspires me! Great organization! And I believe a great help for the community.

I joined Advocates for Adolescent Mothers(AFAM) in the Summer of 2011. Since then I have had multiple opportunities to share my story as a teen mom and student, as well as benefit from multiple opportunities with the organization. AFAM has provided parenting resources, which have helped promote a healthy relationship and development for my daughter and I. Additionally, through fundraising for AFAM and running in the Shamrock Shuffle this year, I was able to give back, increase my health, and complete my goals. Moreover, budgeting, goal setting, and vision board activities have helped me stay focused on my goals and plan for the future. Having another mom join in the workshops this year has given me the opportunity to share and listen to each other's stories; providing a richer experience. Most recently, I utilized a skit to address an issue with effective communication in my current job. As I was prepared, the conversation with my employer went smoothly, and I was able to express my concern effectively. AFAM has provided me with so many enriching opportunities, and I look forward to continuing involvement in AFAM and seeing it grow.

I have worked with AFAM for over 8 years doing back to school health fairs for young women and children. It was a pleasure working with such a strong independent, leader and outspoken person of AFAM I hope her and her organization for helping young women with children reach the highest milestone for years to come...May god bless

My name is Dorsey Smith. I and several of the girls from my own group have had the pleasure of serving as volunteers for AFAM. I am always impressed with Lillian's dedication and commitment to the young women that she serves. We have volunteered during the back to school drive and most recently during her Christmas wrapping drive. Lillian has also been so gracious as to offer us tickets to see the Chicago Sky games. The services that AFAM provide are desperately needed and so is the impassioned leadership that Lillian has proven to supply. I look forward to many endeavors with them in the future.

I am very pleased to introduce myself as one of the founding Board members of AFAM. It has been very rewarding to work with Ms. Lillian and Advocates for Adolescent Mothers. I strongly believe in AFAM’s mission and vision, which is why I have made significant contributions in the areas of fundraising and planning, and by hosting Board and committee meetings, as well as providing moral support in every way that I can. I joined AFAM’s Board because I want to help the organization accomplish its vision, which includes the creation of an evidence based supportive housing model which will be replicated nationally. The organization has made great accomplishments since 2009, including the Back to School Celebration, the Holiday Drive program, and the Educational Empowerment Grant. Advocates for Adolescent Mothers mission is very important to me because I to was a teen parent.

AFAM has far exceeded my expectations as a nonprofit. I remember when the founder of this wonderful nonprofit spoke of it as a dream to help adolescent mothers. Since then, my wife and I have watched her dream become a reality. It is amazing what God will do when you have a heart for His people. This is also an inspiration to anyone who has a dream. Dreams come true. My wife and I have donated to AFAM and we will continue to donate to such a valuable resource in the community. I am a supporter of the work and the mission of AFAM. it is truly a worthy cause. They have done an awesome job of finding ways to cintribute while staying true to their mission and purpose. The founder has the passion, drive amd ethics to continually grow this organization.

I have had the pleasure of knowing the founder of AFAM most of my life and her passion and drive only seems to grow stronger with the years. I truly believe there is no obstacle to big for the members of this organization to hurdle. The help and strength thru provide the young women is special and very much needed. I will support there cause as long as I am able to do so.

This organization has not only helped me financially but also personally. After winning the scholarship from AFAM, I realized how lucky I am to be part of them. The workshops that I have to attend for my scholarship don't feel like any other workshop, I feel a personal connection with other moms and realize that I'm not the only one and I don't stand alone. AFAM has helped me become a better mom and a better person with all the information I receive in the workshops.

I have had the pleasure of working with AFAM during last years Toy Drive!! The energy was amazing, and the work even more amazing. Lillian pushes her Board members and volunteers to reach the goal for the organization. She expects so much from the people on her team because she knows that together we can work to provide for the mothers and children the organization services. This organization will continue to do great things in the lives of young mothers.

I have had the privilege of working with the founder, and other board members within AFAM, over the past few months. In this time, I have been consistently inspired by the vision and desire that this team holds. At each meeting, I am motivated by the broad potential that this organization possesses towards reaching the goal of empowering young parents by providing them with the resources that they need to break the cycle of poverty. I am confident in the future success of this organization, and proud to be able to contribute to it regularly.

I am working with AFAM as of September, 2013 and I can honestly say I've never seen any leader work with such focus, resilience and overall passion as Lillian. Her story is one that really touches your heart and makes you want to work harder because you can really feel how she's trying to impact others that are currently teen mothers through her work. I have had the distinct privileged of knowing Lillian personally since high school. I have had the amazing opportunity to watch her success story as she overcame the struggles of being a teen mom and has made it her life mission to help others facing the same situation. I have been fortunate enough to have volunteer for Advocates for Adolescent Mothers in the finance realm and have attended numerous events. I have watched the events, as well as the organization, grow and have seen the impact the organization has had firsthand. The Holiday Toy Drive and Skylight Luncheon are two of my favorite annual events. It is so rewarding to see the impact Lillian and the organization have made as young women tell their story and explain how they battled adversity to achieve educational success which will help them provide a better life for their child. I have enjoyed contributing to the organization because it is so evident how necessary such an organization is today. I have found Lillian and the organization to be inspirational and uplifting. It is so refreshing to see an organization that prides itself on empowerment and a positive attitude. I fully endorse AFAM as a wonderful organization that affords wonderful opportunities to mothers and children who might otherwise not achieve such success.

AFAM is a wonderful nonprofit organization committed to supporting young parents, helping them break the cycle of poverty and gain prosperity. It is a pleasure to work alongside the founder, Lillian Harris, whose experiences created this vision of support for teen parents.

Advocates for Adolescent Mothers is an organization dedicated to providing mentor-ship and resources to young mothers. I find it greatly encouraging that this organization seeks to uplift those parents, and through counseling and workshop help prevent the incursion of debt that seems to inhibit young parents from succeeding. AMFAM helps break down the barriers that would impede the progression of these valuable young minds and instigates potential, something that is DESPERATELY needed in today's society.

I have volunteered for Advocates for Adolescent Mothers off and on for a few years now and I think that this program is one of the best in it's kind. It gives young woman hope, reliable resources, and mentorship that will allow them to be most effective in there journey as young parents and in continuing there education. We need more programs like this.

It is a privilege to work with an organization who genuinely cares about making a change in society. Especially when it comes to our youth...after all the youth are the future snd AFAM is making sure that young parents are well equipped and empowered to take on the world.

I am pleased to support AFAM because of the passion and dedication of the founder, Lillian Harris. The same drive and determination that catapulted Lillian from a struggling and sometimes homeless adolescent mother to a social worker with a master's degree from one of the world's most renowned universities is what propels this organization forward. Consistently. Lillian gives openly and generously from her heart. She's walked in the shoes of the teens in her program. And she is laser-focused on empowering and inspiring them to be great mothers, and supporting them against any obstacles that could impede them from continuing their education.

There are so many amazing reviews of AFAM as an organization (all of which I agree with 100%) that I want to take a minute and talk about its founder - Lillian Harris. I met Ms. Harris at a conference earlier this year and was blown away by her passion, courage, and determination. She is as wonderful a person as she is a leader. There are a lot of great non-profits out there but it is rare that you find an organization with a great mission, great services, AND an awe-inspiring leader! Kudos to AFAM. I wish them continued success in all that they do.

Advocates for Adolescent Mothers is a wonderful resource for teenage moms to excel in their futures! I love the fact that they have a scholarship program, which can truly impact the direction in which a teen mom will take when considering how she will pursue a higher education. I am excited to see how this organization will grow long-term!

Advocates for Adolescent Mothers is a breath of fresh air for teen moms! I was blessed to have lunch with the founder Ms. Lillian Harris & she is God sent! Her compassion & positive enegy is contaigious. I left wanting to be apart of AFAM. I believe that same spirit that flows through the founder is flowing through AFAM. AFM is a breathe of fresh air to a subject that is in great need. In a day were teen pregenancy is at an all time high as well as being indorsed by through networks and their shows, an organization which attacks the issue in the way it is needed to the community is God sent.

AFAM is an outstanding organization with demonstrated commitment to young mothers and the challenges they face. The programs and fundraising events sponsored by AFAM are truly wonderful. I donated to this organization because I believe in the work that they do.

The emotional support, monetary help , and knowledge that AFAM provides is like no other I have seen. Lillian Harris's vision is unprecedented and relentless. The adolescent girls of today are in dire need for this type of organization. Lillian leads by example and first hand knowledge and with this being said the girls are in super hands.

AFAM is a great nonprofit organization for teen mothers. Teen pregnancy can be a burden both mentally and socially. Words can’t begin to express the guidance and support that is offered through the leaders of this organization.

I wanted to take this time to thank Advocates for Adolescent Mothers for choosing me to receive this award. With the money I have received, my daughter and I have been able to visit our family in Chicago. This is extremely important to me because I want my daughter to know her family, and I believe that family should stay connected. Also, it means a lot that my mom can see her granddaughter grow up. Besides immediate family, we have other supportive loved ones in Chicago, and it good to see them as well. When we visit, I am motivated even more to continue my educational and personal goals. So I thank all of my supporters who are survivors and know, just as I do, that there is no other option but success. I thank those who advocate for teen parents continuing in college and know the significance of their fights in a teen’s life. As a teen mother, I know that many other teen parents will benefit from this program. Furthermore, based on the impact this organization has had on my family so far, I definitely believe there should be more agencies like it.

I have volunteered twice for Advocates for Adolescent Mothers, and both times i volunteered it was amazing. i feel that Advocates for Adolescent Mothers is great because it is helping young moms get out of poverty, and it helps the young moms take care of their children. My mom created Advocates for Adolescent Mothers and she is a great mom to me.

The vision of AFAM is absolutely astounding! The work that they've done - even more so. Raising awareness and implementing various programs such as scholarship grant initiatives and help for children of young mothers returning to school is quite impressive to say the least. This NPO is one that I want to make continuous contributions to. To think that it all began with a young mother who had - and still has, a wonderful vision. I was a teen mom and although my mom was a great support, I recognize the need for teen and adolescent moms to have an organization and people in there corner where they can be the primary focus. Advocates for Adolescent Mothers is a great organization that caters to the needs of the teen moms and helps them to stay on track and lets them know that their life can still be a success story despite the challenges of being a young and/or adolescent mother.

Once being a young mom myself and recognizing the lack of resources and support I received. I can appreciate the vision of AFAM. Parents who experienced being a young parent, homelessness, lack of support; should want to support this vision.

AFAM is a great nonprofit organization for adolescent mothers to have in their corner. I too was a teen mom without any resources to utilize back in the 80's. God Bless AFAM ministry....

Advocates for Adolescent Mothers exceeded all expectations in 2011, not only through the Back to School Celebration, advocating for young parents to return to school, but also through the Educational Empowerment Grant Initiative, an innovative and promising program providing financial and social support to young moms entering their first year of college, and also through our toy drive, providing toys to the children of homeless young mothers in Chicago at Christmas time.

Advocates for Adolescent Mothers has a targeted and strategic approach to accomplishing their mission of providing young parents with the tools, resources, and support needed to break the cycle of poverty. Although the Board is still growing, we are a very congealed team of professionals passionate about empowering young parents, and improving the welfare of their children: We have been able to accomplish much although we are small in number. In 2011, our accomplishments included the offering of 7 event experiences to our supporters, 4 successful fundraising campaigns, and the forging of 13 new partnerships.

Advocates for Adolescent Mothers embraces our identity as a social enterprise, in that all of the initiatives offered through the organization are funded by contributions from private donors and fundraising events/campaigns. Over the years, Advocates for Adolescent Mothers will continue to prove that we are more than a mere nonprofit organization and social enterprise, but Advocates for Adolescent Mothers is a MOVEMENT!

This organization is a great source that encourage a at risk population ie adolescent parents to further thier education, what is more empowering than that. Adolescent parents mainly the ladies are usually wrote off in this society. This organization goal is to help lift thier heads and spirits, to show them it's not over you can still do great things, especially through education. As a volunteer at last year 2010 celebration I saw first hand how this encouragement lifted spirits. As the founder Lillian Harris annouced the young ladies who would be attending college in the fall the audience were elated and the young ladies appeared proud. A spirit is a terrible thing to waste let's keep these adolescents encouraged. Get involved. You will be surprised how great you feel and what great things can happen when you give others the opportunity to do thier best. What a wonderful feeling to know you were a part in assisting an adolescent parent to achieve their goal in spite of.

AFAM is a great organization which I personally know was put together by someone who experienced first hand what it is like to be in the shoes of a teen parent. Her experiences has made her not only invest but also put a great deal of dedication into this organization. She is very committed in becoming a great advocate for those who may need the help that AFAM provides and I know that this organization will not only help the teen parents but also the children of the teen parents and their children"s children. This organizations will have an effect on many lives which is ultimately making a difference in the world.

AFAM has a stong and dedicated leader in Lillian Harris. I have witnessed first hand the impact of adolescent pregnancy and the burdens both mentally, and socially that are placed on them. Also I have seen the triumph and strength that those young women exude. Where you start is not where you end and Ms. Harris is a rousing example.

As a fellow service provider for girls ranging in ages from 7-17 yrs. old, I totally understand the vast amount of services they require and important areas that they need in support in. I'm thankful that AFAM exists to provide sound and reliable services to cover areas specific to supporting adolescent mothers!

AFAM is an excellent organization that is committed to working with a population that is often not recognized AFAM's programs provide hope you young mothers and lets them know that people do care about them. The resources they provide these mothers are informative, as well as beneficial for themselves and their children. The mentoring offered is definatley grooming these young women into positive role models for our future teen mothers. I definately appreciate AFAM and hope they can offer services to all inner city high schools in the city of Chicago. I envision AFAM being global in the near future.

AFAM has an amazing mission and the activities and programs that are blossoming will only provide great outcomes for young parents in need of support, guidance, and encouragement. The Back to School Celebration in August was a huge success and I am thankful I was able to participate in it. I was very pleased with the strong collaboration AFAM developed with Simpson High School, which is the only school in the city that targets adolescent mothers. These type of services need to flourish in order for our young people and children to flourish and have positive life outcomes, and transition to being productive citizens in society. I look forward to AFAM's continued growth and success!

AFAM has participated in Park Forest Youth Day event and provided a wealth of knowledge to those attending. The many services the organization has provided to the young women in the communities has served to strengthen their character, give them a bigger vision and shed positive focus in transitional years of their lives.

AFAM is an excellent organization that is committed to working with population that is often disserviced. AFAM partnered with our school for a Back to School Event that brought in mentors, community resources, free services, food, prizes, and fun to young parents from across the city. I look forward to continuing to partner with them as well as watch them grow.

The mission of this "new kid on the block" organization is extraordinary! I had the privilege to serve at the AFAM BTS event on last year and the support and recognition for this event within the community was extremely impressive! From a prestigious political dignitary to the AIDS Foundation to small businesses, it was well organized, well represented and well sponsored and supported.

I believe this organization will be an exceptional tool in the community, a bridge of support over troubled waters for teen moms, dads, and their children, and a voice crying in the wilderness for all teens parent who are prospective overcomers!!! GOOD WORK AFAM!!!
