Causes: Community Service Clubs
Mission: To improve the quality of life within our communities and enhance educational and economic opportunities with a primary focus on our youth. 100 black men of maryland, inc. Seeks to serve as a beacon of leadership to create environments where our children are motivated to achieve.
Programs: The college access program identifies and assists high school and middle school students and parents in navigating through the paper tide when applying to post secondary institutions using college advisors on site at the schools. Encourages more students to prepare and study for sats and other college readiness activities. The program serves over 7000 participants annually through college access presentations and workshops, sat registrations, college fairs, college registration tracking and parents seminars.
school outreach and mentoring provides support to various public schools in the community in a variety of ways, to include providing school supplies to 350 students at 3 public schools, engaging over 700 students with presentations dealing with self esteem, genealogy, and financial literacy, mentoring over 25 students through business planning competitions, and providing free eye exams, glasses and transportation for more than 20 students at various elementary schools. We also provide free haircuts for over 30 elementary school boys several times a year.
community outreach programs provides food donations for families at thanksgiving, and toy donations for over 70 youth during the holidays, sponsoring and supporting neighborhood cleanups, blood drives and general support through partnerships with other neighborhood organizations.
