Our guests at Telluride Alpine Lodging are always looking for another great activity to do in town in between skiing... We recommend them to the Telluride Historical Museum and they always comment on what a neat experience it is for the entire family. The great staff and fascinating history is really exciting for new visitors and repeat guests. We thank the Telluride Historical Museum for providing such a unique and memorable experience for our visitors to Telluride.

Working with guests and new visitors to Telluride, Colorado. We refer them to the Museum and they always have a blast. Nice, accommodating, and knowledgeable staff makes the difference!

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

None. The whole setup & production is top notch.

When my father came to visit I struggled to think of an activity that would be fun for him, my daughter, my husband and me. But the Telluride Historical Museum captivated all of us. It was a fun, interactive way for us to learn and a great way to spend the day together. The museum was a surprise to my husband, who was born and raised in Telluride and thought he knew everything about the community. Even he was engaged and interested.
The museum is one of the best cultural amenities we have here, and the people who work to make it so special deserve high praise.

I have watched the museum grow from a few small exhibits to lots of interesting, interactive exhibits and a broader community outreach with its programs (like the Schmid ranch visits, the historical ski tours, the root beer floats on July 4, etc.).

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

Enable it with more money to expand its presence physically and with even more programming outreach.

Don't spend a minute in Telluride without visiting the Museum. Get to know what makes this quaint western mining town with a Victorian flare one of the most iconic places in America. What do Butch Cassidy, Diamond Tooth Lil and Nikola Tesla all have in common? They all have a story to share at the Telluride Historical Museum.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

research, reference material, imagery and a great place to bring my visiting friends and family

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

give them the finances to expand the mining history. Thinking big, purchase the Idarado Mill and turn it into a giant regional mining museum, complete with in-the-tunnels mining tours.

This museum is located on the north side of Telluride and is very well thought out and managed. The staff runs the museum to maximize the space available and present artifacts, photos, stories in a manner that makes it fun to hang out and see everything. Recently they opened an exhibit of Telluride during the 1970's and kicked it off with Telluride Trivia. Very hip, energetic night that especially drew and delighted long time locals. The museum has hosted quite a number of cool, interesting events, the most recent being a fun day outing at the historic Schmid Ranch on Wilson Mesa with cookies, hot chocolate and sleigh rides. Over 200 attended and they invited local businesses to donate cookies and chip in for the sleigh rides so attendees could ride for free. Worth being a member and worth your time, attention and donations, most certainly.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

community awareness and drawing the community together.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

Give them a bunch of $$ so they could continue to do the things they are doing now and more of them.
