If skills for life is one of the most amazing programs that I have ran across. If the people that run this program are amazing! The programs they have for vets are absolutely barnun the best I've ever participated in! If when we go on our outings it's just like being back with my soldiers. The Times we share while on these retreats are not only fun, they're therapeutic too. If you've ever thought about joining or going on a retreat with Skills for life and haven't, don't hesitate to join... I promise you won't regret it!

I was lucky enough to be able to attend Smith Industries sponsored fishing trip to Lake Amistad with Dan Robles and David Dougherty as MWSF staff. I can say that is was one of the best adventures I've been out on. I believe we had 6 warriors that went out on the trip and the camaraderie with fellow veterans and the host from Smith Industries were so awesome. I had another awesome adventure on a buck hunt at the Purple Heart Ranch. I can say that everything from the volunteers who help with cooking, guiding the hunt and everything in between was a truly awesome experience.

Throughout the stay they far exceed my expectations and were very well organized. Every single aspect of this trip was thought out in extreme detail to ensure that every person was able to enjoy their time no matter what we were doing. I would highly recommend this organization to people that are wanting to donate as well as to people that have been injured and are wanting to go on a very fun trip. It helps all of us injured service members get reintegrated back into society after our long medical needs.

I can’t even focus on a starting point to express my gratitude to MWSF. This organization has that sparkle and magic that instantly creates that family bond with service-members who often have an empty hole or void from within. They give you that special moment that the average family would not be able to afford or do the logistical leg work to make it happen.

I feel like with the staff, volunteers and sponsors that are organizing these events for us veterans that I honestly didn't expect to have such a great time. I've made some good friends and appreciate all that you've done to help give me back some excitement in my life.

We are the Connally Family and we had the blessing of receiving a home from MWSF and Wells Fargo in Palmer, AK. The only way to truly put into words what the opportunity has done for us is to say it has changed our family tree. We have a rare opportunity now being completely debt free to make smart financial decisions for our family that has put us on a life changing path. We could never thank MWSF enough for this program and what it has done for us. Thank you for giving us a new start.

Went on a hog hunt in South Georgia a while back, had a blast! I was expecting to stay in a dinky cabin eating campfire meals. But boy was I wrong! We had a big nice house with clean beds. Wall mounts in the entire living room. Big ass kitchen where we cooked. Fully stocked fridge. Side by sides and golf carts to ride on. Nice new deer stands, with food plots already out. Man I had a blast! Got to meet some good vets that I still talk to today. They even had thermal scopes that we could use for night hunts. I can only hope and prey that I can get to go on another hunt or fishing trip with you guys! It’s been the talk of the town over here where I’m from. All my friends and family are happy to see combat vets being taken care of by the one that can.

I cannot say enough about the Military Warriors Support Foundation! I was fortunate enough to be asked to go on a helicopter hog hunt and all I can say is that was by far the most fun i've had in years! Thank you so much to all of the Heros, staff, voulenteers and donors. You all make dreams come true for us!

In 2012 I was shot through the neck during an operation in Southern Afghanistan. I found myself exiting the military and looked to stay near my wife’s family for added support while re-entering the civilian sector. In 2014 MWSF awarded us the perfect home within the radius of both my new job and family. Now entering my 7th year within my civilian career, it is more evident than ever, that MWSF was instrumental in my family’s solid and successful foundation.

I couldn’t ask for a better organization. What these guys and gals do for our wounded veterans is top notch. I have been on many trips with them and what it has done for me mentally is just amazing. I can’t thank them enough. Even when I moved out of Texas to South Carolina they still allowed me to come on a couple events and I was so great full. Again no better organization out there.

I think they do very well within their limitations as a non profit. One event included children, this was my most enjoyable and least stressful event to attend. It was family tickets to Fiesta Texas. As a mother of four I find myself unable to attend events that take me away from my children particularly when one has special needs and I have to make caretaker arrangements then worry about them the whole time. I will no longer attend those events (two hunting ranch trips). I also have found -as a purple heart recipient- that I do not have much in common with the other attendees: gold star mothers, gold star wives -it breaks my heart to meet them knowing I came home and theirs did not-and veterans who are simply overall 100% VA service connection rated. I am none of those, and cannot relate to their condition(s). I appreciate the three events I have attended over the last few years.
Please keep up the good work for those who are able to participate and fully enjoy it. It just is not meant for this mom, when the mom part comes first for me.

I came back from combat with a career cut short after almost 10 years. I struggled to find work right away, got into debt, ended up divorced and alone sharing custody of my twin boys. The Military Warriors foundation came to my rescue after a friend asked me to reach out to them. They got me a house, so my boys had a place to visit me and helped me out with financial and credit counseling. They really helped turn my situation around. Throughout the years they invited me to events, games, concerts around the area. One of which I attended I was awarded a new car which was great because I had a new wife and 2 more children. It’s been over 5 years and I’m still driving that car. It’s served my family and I well. I cannot say enough about this organization. They literally bring hope when its lost. We all come home with our demons and financial and family troubles don’t help. MWSF was a life saver. Their staff is friendly, and I consider all of them friends and keep in touch with many. I cannot say enough about them.

My family and I have been honored by the great people associated with MWSF for years. Our daughters now have a home made of memories. We've been able to develop healthy financial habits and are in the best place we could be thanks to the support provided during our financial advisement period. The tools and resources given have strengthened our relationships.
