I am grateful to be receiving Truthout and intend to support the efforts of this alternative media. What does one expect from the corporate world when Disney owns ABC, Comcast owns NBC, Time Warner owns CNN, Fox Communications owns Fox News and whomever owns CBS. The media no longer provide in-depth reporting to the public. The major stories of the day are given shortshrift or not published at all. The contributors to Truth Out are impressive, Paul Krugman, Chris Hedges, etc.

Liberalism and progressivism need to reassert a place of pride in the messages disseminated to the American Public. The power elite of the United States has failed the people of the United States through a lack of responsibility and accountability. The sclerotic and dysfunctional status quo needs to be portrayed for what it truly is: a civilization in decline attempting to squeeze as much of the sweet juice from the fruit as possible prior to disposing of the "useless fiber."

Truth Out can be a medium for awareness and change in a changing world.
