Review for Sisters 4 Sisters Inc, Lanham, MD, USA
I volunteer with this organization whose mission is to empower Women and Girls by providing them enlightening workshops on personal and professional development, and providing community outreach in areas which greatly impact women including HIV-AIDS awareness, domestic violence, homelessness, health and wellness, and mentoring programs.
Sisters4Sisters is based in Prince George's County, Maryland and has earned the reputation for the organization to contact when a mother and children have to escape domestic violence in the wee hours of the morning or a child in need of school supplies or a family in need of Thanksgiving dinner.
Sisters4Sisters also birthed a young girls organization, "Daughters of Destiny", where young girls are exposed to enrichment workshops and programs.
The organization has been in existence for over 10 years and relies soley on the support of volunteers with the aid of limited financial support from private funders and county grant funding.
Carolyn Washington, founder of the organization has recieved many awards and was recently recongized by the White House for her unwavering dedication to the community and empowerment of women and girls.

When you see the gratitude of a family who would otherwise, not have Thanksgiving dinner, or school supplies for their children at the begining of the school year, or tears shed by women and girls who have been victimized, it makes you humble and realize that we all have the responsibility to help each other in time of need. If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...
I would institute a formalized development team to support funding and grant\proposal development. I would build a stronger board of directors engaged and dedicated to the sustainability of the organization.
