Review for American Cancer Society Foundation, Atlanta, GA, USA
The American Cancer Society IS the place to turn when you are diagnosed with cancer. They have so many services available to not only the cancer patients but also their family and friends. They work hard to educate people with all the many tests to detect cancer early. They devote millions of dollars to research so that a CURE will be found. The American Cancer Society advocates with our legislators for more funding for cancer research. They are a full service organization there to help EVERYONE. I am a beneficiary of the American Cancer Society since they pioneered the pap smear that found my cancer early!! I owe them my life!!!!! And I will volunteer for life!!!!

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...
that they are there for people with ALL kinds of cancer. They have an 800 number that is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. They are always available.
The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...
dedicated and passionate about raising money to help the American Cancer Society fund it's mission. I have never met an American Cancer Society staff or volunteer that I did not like instantly!!!!!
If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...
fund more research to find a CURE, educate more people about early detection, advocate for more funding from our government and provide more services to cancer patients.
Ways to make it better...
I had not lost so many wonderful family members and friends to this horrible disease.
In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...
raising money during these hard economic times. But, the volunteers and staff are so committed that they are working harder and harder to make sure that the money is raised.
One thing I'd also say is that...
the American Cancer Society and their fundraiser - Relay For Life is THE most amazing experience. If you have never been to a Relay For Life, please find one and attend. You will not regret it.
