Review for Metro Atlanta Recovery Residences Inc, Doraville, GA, USA

Rating: 5 stars

Good Day,

My name is Steve Sopko, and in 1986 - I had the very beneficial, life saving experience of staying 29 days at the Ridgeview Institute in Smyrna, GA - under the direction of Dr. Douglas Talbot. I recently received my 25 year Medallion for those years of continuos sobriety in AA.

A couple of years after the beginning in my journey in a sober life, I met Debbie B. - who had just completed her several month stay at MARR, and we have been friends in recovery and sobriety ever since. Debbie's experiences of how beneficial her MARR program had been was certainly evident and of benefit to all of us in our Alpharetta, GA AA group - as she was already a "step ahead" in her recovery when she first started attending our group. Since then I have attended literally hundreds of meetings with Debbie and I've seen her grow and prosper in her 'new life' - much credit of course to her firm foundation she received in those months at the outset of her recovery from the disease of alcoholism.

I would without doubt have to credit her time at MARR for a goodly part in that 'new beginning'.

I certainly wish all of you at MARR continued success in your program and I am grateful for what you did for an exemplary, sober and mature member of society and her beneficial contribution to my/the program of Alcoholics Anonymous. No doubt you have done that for thousands more persons, and for those efforts, there are not enough good things to say.

Please "keep on keepin' on" in your program and be assured that enough cannot be said as to how much it is appreciated by all.

Your friend and Debbie's - in recovery,

Steve Sopko
Marietta, Ga.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

Knowing a recipient of your program.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

I would just hope that you continue in your efforts and successes.
