Review for Arlington Art Center, Arlington, VA, USA

Rating: 5 stars

The AAC is a great place to experience contemporary art ! You can do this by visiting the exhibits, taking a class, coming to happy hours and talking with board members and artists, participating in special gallery events like our wonderful Day of the Dead gala or attending gallery talks and openings. There is always somethng exciting happening at AAC.

I've been a member of the board of the AAC for over 6 years and a member of the Exhibitions committee. Before that I was an exhibiting artist. AAC serves Mid-Atlantic artists by providing a top notch venue in which to show their work. Many artist's careers have been successfully launched in our galleries. AAC also serves the community by presenting high quality, cutting edge art and providing forums and discussions which allow the public to gain a deeper understanding and appreciation of the works they are viewing.
Classes for kids and adults are also a big part of the AAC. It is a great place to find our "inner artist".

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

so very many ways. The AAC was a great help in getting my own work shown and reviewed and I've seen so many other artists enjoy the experience of showing their work and having it reviewed in important publications both on the local and national level.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

can't think of any.

Role:  Board Member & I've worked on the exhibitions committee, choosing artists to show at the center. I've served on the board and the executive board, gallery sat, juried student shows and in the past exhibited my work at the AAC.
