Review for Asheville Humane Society, Asheville, NC, USA
Folks need to be aware that although the AHS of Asheville does some wonderful work, they have very loose guidelines/definitions of "healthy" animals. Supervision towards the decision making process for saving versus killing animals is weak at best.
As a result of the above, the kill rate for AHS of Asheville is 59%. That means if you surrender your animal to the group, it has, in fact, a 6 out of 10 chance of being killed.
When you make your donation decisions, you might want to pick another organization with a lower euthanization rate of preferably a "no-kill" shelter.
Don't give your money away just because it the "Humane Society. "
