Review for Biodiversity Conservation Alliance, Laramie, WY, USA

Rating: 5 stars

I love this organization! I like its foundation in science, grassroots advocacy and direct experience with nature. I think its use of consensus is key for good decision making. I learn something every day at BCA and have high regard for my colleagues. BCA is hard-hitting and doesn't fall for fads in our field.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

the Black Hills National Forest, the Medicine Bow National Forest, the Red Desert, and on behalf of native species.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

be taking over a lot of responsibility.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

how much more confidence I have that careers in nonprofits (doing something you love) is a viable option.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

dedicated and smart. The volunteers remind me of how great humanity is.

Ways to make it better...

we were fully staffed: we could do so much more with such higher quality. Or if we had a nicer office. It would make me feel more proud about working there.

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

the cultural shifts that need to happen in a largely rural state, communications, and funding.

One thing I'd also say is that...

BCA has grown a lot in the last few years!

When was your last experience with this nonprofit?

Role:  Professional with expertise in this field & I'm on the BCA staff.
