I have been involved in a number of conservation organizations over the past 40 years or so, as volunteer, site steward, and board president. Paso Pcifico came to my attention a few years ago, and I have visited one of its research and restoration sites in Nicaragua.

We are learning that environmentalism cannot focus only on wildlife and habitat, and that caring for human communities is a vital part of conservation in most cases. Paso Pacifico blends those concerns very effectively, and I am proud to be helpful to a small degree.
