Review for The Tipi Raisers, Oglala, SD, USA
I'm an enrolled member of the Oglala Lakota Nation (Oglala Sioux Tribe). I was born and raised on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation.
in the summer of 2018 I met Mr. Dave Ventimigilia-Tipi Raisers at a meeting held by the OST Vice-President Darla Black.
It was very interesting and from the visit a spark grew from Tipi Raisers and my family. I enjoyed the sincere and dedicated work they provided for many of our peoples families. I enjoy volunteering for the many groups that Tipi Raisers brought in...I met many sincere people across the Country who came to lend a helping hand but most importantly the opportunity for many of our own Tribal members to be employed and repair much needed homes the best they could. I've seen the hope it gave to our young to hold a job and to look forward to something positive...not only in the work force but also through the GEN-7 Youth Program. the opportunity to connect with other cultures and Nationalities, to become one in unity...mankind!
I've seen Tipi Raisers take in our people and work hard together by all sharing their experiences and skills among each other.
Most importantly, I have seen lasting friendships grow between many of our people and those visiting!!
In the 2 years that I have known Tipi Raisers Staff and Dave I have felt like our friendship has been a lifetime!! I wished my husband had met this fine group.
Thank you to the Tipi Raisers for dedicating many many years to our people...never giving up when odds were against you, always believing in honesty and truth.
