My Nonprofit Reviews
Review for FNE International, E Weymouth , MA, USA
After many years of doing volunteer work on my own on a more informal basis, I got to know Michael Cipoletti in 2019 and the amazing work he does with FNE International not only in my home country, Peru, but also in Nicaragua and Dominican Republic. I believe the benefits of volunteer work reach far and wide with an effect that reaches beyond the communities around us, and it is an essential part of a functioning society. So I decided that choosing where to focus my time and talents was something I needed to do, and seeing as I connected with FNEI's causes on a deeper level, knowing that they have established community partners in Peru, and considering 2020 was turning out to be such a challenging year, I took on a role on the Board in May this year. Seeing the organization from the inside has allowed me to be even more in awe of the dedication and commitment everyone shows, beginning with Michael as the Executive Director, the Nicaragua in-country staff, board members, community partners and supporters, and that just goes to show how impactful FNEI's programs are, how much they serve the communities they work with so they can find sustainable paths to get out of poverty for good. FNEI works closely with communities, understanding them, empowering them, and that is something I closely relate with as an experienced interpreter.
I'm extremely grateful at the opportunity I have to make a difference with such an incredible organization as FNE International.
